I'll need to give these a proper wearing on skin. First impressions on card, they weren't too impressive for me.

Have you tried Yatagan from Caron, I found des cendres quite similar to that on first impressions.

​@HandsomeSmells i think I've smelled it in passing at a department store/duty free but not gone out to try it specifically. If its very similar, i understand how this one could come across a bit underwhelming. I don't have the most extensive experience with the OGs

Good to hear an unbiased review of these. I have Des Cendres, and personally love it, Yatagan is a fair comparison. If only modern Yatagan were of the same quality. Take two parts Yatagan and one part Pierre Guillaume Papyrus de Ciane, and an extra dose of strength and longevity. But you're right, nothing new, but then I suppose that's how any frag that references classics is going to be, and that's ok.

A few minutes on a card isn't a good representation of these scents. I own all 3 and they are fantastic on skin. Hope you do a follow up once you've spent time with them. Thanks for sharing

Yep I agree. Best to form an opinion on skin. I remember I disliked Ormonde Man on first impressions, and only after wearing on skin did I fully appreciate the scent.
