Honestly... that first response to the suicidal person was awful. Shaming someone for wanting to die and implying they’re spitting on God’s gift by being in pain and not seeing a way out? Is that really helpful? That alone could be enough to make someone feel even more hopeless. I love Les, but he needs do stay in his lane and stick to motivational messages. He’s not a therapist or mental health professional, nor should he be giving input to people suffering from mental health problems, which suicidal thoughts often stem from. I’ve been listening to Les for years, and hearing him say that jarred me. Motivational type messages are NOT appropriate for genuine psychological distress. He should have just encouraged the person asking to get professional help and then left it at that. Stay in your lane- Don’t try and play therapist with people in a crisis when you have no idea what you’re doing. If you’re going to veer outside of your job description, then at the very least get some online training about how to talk to people who are actively suicidal. There are courses online for that. I would just delete this whole video, to be honest. It reflects poorly on Les as a speaker and could harm someone else who might be struggling with the same thoughts and doesn’t need to be shamed for reaching out and telling somebody. Just awful
