Between 2014 and 2017, the Tugger not only looked like a rapper but also rapped during his own number and partly during "Mr Mistoffelees". They changed the role to the old version again earlier this year. Thank god they did!!

Well you'll be impressed to know that cats exist in every European language, also ine Japanese, ans Korean. Only the English and French versions rhyme tho, as other productions tend to be 1:1 translations

I am so used to the old originial Paris version and it's kinda more fun to get your tongue twisted when you sing "Jalupates chants pour Jalupates chats" then followed by "Jalupates sons pour Jalupates chats". The actual French version has more lyrics than this, but for the parts they sing in this video "Qui peut voir dans la nuit?" (Who can see at night?) "Qui est né aveugle et sourd?" (Who is born blind and deaf?) "Qui peut défiler un roi?" (Who can walk on a king?) "Jouer avec sa couronne?" (Play with his crown?) "Qui peut faire le dos rond, puis griffer tour à tour?" (Who can arch their back and claw back and forth?) "Si vous vous êtes comme ça, c'est un Jellicle cat" (If you are like that, you're a Jellicle cat) "Jellicle sons pour les Jellicle cats, Jelli- chansons pour Jellicle cats" (Jellicle sounds for jellicle cats, jellicle songs for jellicle cats) Interesting enough, these lyrics are different than in the original Paris cast recording. In the Paris cast recording, the French lyrics are very close to the English lyrics. Additionally, in the French version, instead of "Jellicle" cats, they call "Jallupate" cats, which I presume is to rhyme with the French word for cat: Chat.
