i love phils bass playing very much but i think john kahn (JGB) had a better musical connection with jerry, they could groove the fuck out and it felt way more lethal than phil dropping bombs did. But with that being said though, phil was the best bass player possible for the grateful dead, no one could ever play a song like "the other one" like phil could

That’s the great thing about him. He goes crazy when he wants to but also knows how to be a very tame and supportive bass player. Just look at his playing with Tom Waits! You’d never even be able to guess it was him playing if you weren’t listening closely. Great guy, never steps on other people’s toes.

He does however have a food truck shaped like a hotdog and bun onsite that he call Wine and Weiners. Thur-Sun Not to nitpick, but I guess I am, Les really lives more in Occidental and Mickey is more in Graton. But Sebastopol is commonly used for that whole area.
