I think the LATE GREAT Charles Stepney would be proud. he composed a masterpiece. 👍👍👍👍

When this started I thought I was going to miss a lead singer and explosive chorus. But wow, just beautiful. The sax and flute players are so evocative. And congrats for getting the original Charles Stepney arrangement and production across so well. The drum and bass, and the high brass! Magnificent.

This is a great Charles Stepney arrangement. I believe it was created in his basement.

Thanks for sharing that tidbit. Great article on Charles on SF Guardian I'd suggest anyone here stumbling upon my comment to immediately devour. I am just learning of his greatness & the article is like a telescope magnifying the wonderously vast vibrancy of his constellations. California Soul, so many amazing songs are of his soul & mind & l like so many, had no idea. Get hipped as well. Charles is up there in the rare air with David Axelrod & few others that are beyond the pale. Rotary Connection played frequently w/ Led Zep, Stones, & Jefferson Airplaine yet few speak of them here in the states & I can only imagine hearing them in that time having your mind completely blown by Stepneys writings performed exhuberantly w/ a young Minnie and her 4.5 octaves. Funny people think Beyonce is anything, besides attractive. Wish I had been there, not here now. I'm not alone, many younger people searching for good music that isn't in this time, I hope they find this amazing version.
