Bucky Pizzarelli displayed not only great command of his guitar but a sense of a bygone era by wearing a suit and tie to an appearance. This is magnificent!

Well definitely ... You joined Ellis Marsalis, Mr. Bucky ... 😭 A big thank you for your music, your great talent, the happiness that you brought me. I adored (I still adore) your gypsy jazz which inspired me so much in my last book "Le fauve". What beef you're going to make up there! Thinking of family and loved ones ...

Just a note, everybody that has died in this area recently, has been written up as dying from the virus, even if you have a gun shot wound in the back of your head. They are trying to pad the numbers. He died from old age. RIP.

Notice Bucky's right hand: It's so arthritic that he can't open it, but he can still hold a pick with it. Notice Les's right arm: His elbow is set permanently in a curved arc (at his own direction) after an auto accident crushed it, so that he could continue to play guitar. Notice the tune they're playing: A composition by Django Reinhardt, a seminal influence on them both (and countless others), whose legendarily creative solos were played with the two fingers on his left hand which still worked, after that hand was severely burned in a caravan fire. I perceive a Divine Order here.

i play with my right hand entirely closed too but thats just the way i learned to play xd.

I don't see any arthritic problem with Bucky, but Les has lots of trouble with it. Amazing how he can still keep playing.

Les Paul is my number one musical hero. He knows his way around the fretboard and a crowd. His crowd work is so entertaining to watch. Every video I see if him he is jolly and joking with the crowd. His style of dress fits perfectly with his personality. Before I stop sucking his guitar I must say, if I had the choice to resurrect him and make him immortal... Or solve the world Peace problem, I'm choosing to bring back the picker.

One day Ray Brown took me to a session over at Nola Studio in NYC.It was Bucky's birthday. Ray said You are guitarded why don't you ask some question maybe about Django or about his guitar and give him a a little adulation it would please him. I thought about it I said To him "your are the keeper of the flame and the best rhythm player I ever heard." I dont actually remember what he said but we were all laughing . And now that he is gone from this stupid covid virus My thoughts go to his family. Sure he lived to his nineties And he was a joyful creative cat But his friends and family must miss him and at the same time I hope they are smiling and Reminiscing about the good times..
