I love it when Harley puts her psychology Ph.D. to good use. It's a part of her character that hasn't really been explored much in other series.

That's because in early canon it was said that she slept her way to her degree rather than earning it legit. That aspect has been forgotten over time.

It is so amazing how they addressed trauma and PTSD very well in this episode. I feel really bad for Bruce. He shouldn't have to torture himself like this.

For real, I wasn't expecting Harleys' show to be the one with the possibly best exploration of Bruce's trauma. But here we are.
@bad-girl-coventhe-owl-club1119 Жыл бұрын
i know people are upset at how bruce became here but have to be honest this whole thing got me in tears, you just don't see bruce showing this much hidden emotion about his parents and how he blames himself everyday. i don't remember seeing a episode or even another show, showing this side to bruce and i do hope people don't think really ill of him doing this trauma can really fuck you up to the point your mind is just well reverse trauma. never want to rethink the same thing everyday just to make something that never ever gonna change, i do hope bruce heals he is human not just batman.
@tyrant-den884 Жыл бұрын
A lot of people really just want Bruce to be a tool. And having one of those people be his head writer for a while (Frank Miller) has done a lot of damage.
@glorymemes7910 Жыл бұрын
Harley Quinn is kinda parody of dc to be honest except for a few characters one of them is and is kinda my favorite as a written character batman he is human and he’s the Batman who snapped he kinda doesn’t care anymore and is the most broken he still lingers on about his parents death
@pranavghantasala6808 Жыл бұрын
That's why Batman's my favorite superhero, billionaire or not. The stoic, badass, crime-fighting persona is cool as hell, sure, but when he lets the mask slip and you see how human he is underneath, it really makes him shine as a character.
@TheBloobster Жыл бұрын
People are upset? I've seen overwhelming positivity to this take on Bruce Wayne. This is definitely the deepest take on Bruce Wayne in a show... it's incredibly sad, and nuanced, in comparison to most Bruce iterations. Batman always has development but Bruce... this is the most attached I've been to his character.

Harley being his future therapist is a nice twist on her joining the bat family . Batman is by far one of the most dangerous men in DC, the very thought of what he's willing to do if he snapped is terrifying. This is something no villain in Gotham wants to see other than the joker. Plus RIP the legend, Kevin Conroy.
@cf-4233 Жыл бұрын
I love how she called it several episodes back that Harley would become Bruce's therapist. It's a dynamic I really liked and wish would be explored more elsewhere. Hopefully we will see more of that in this series as well.
@jafeir Жыл бұрын
When you think about it, Bruce having a reverse repressed memory makes sense in more ways than one. Aside from the guilt and blaming himself for his parents death, that moment is the only thing BRUCE remembers, because after that moment all the memories made after that are BATMAN'S memories.

Batman is a character that I'm glad this show, despite being a comedy, is handling with respect, while also satirizing in good spirits.

My entire family died while I was at a friends house seven years. I blamed myself for not being there and that was all I could think about. Making myself repress every memory but that one. Oh, wow. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your family. Being a survivor must be utterly overwhelming at times. I am glad to hear you’re seeking support. Shows that depict trauma and healing in informed and respectful ways are really important to me, too. I found generative somatics and my ragtag collection of chosen family when I first moved away from a traumatic context, and they gave me a totally new life. I would be an entirely different person otherwise. I hope you find love and beauty and more healing and purpose than you ever imagined possible in your life’s journey. And I am so sorry you have to know so much tragedy. 💜

I didn't watch ep6 of Arcane until after I finished s3 of Harley Quinn, so when Caitlyn asked, "What, you don't have parents?", it reminded me of young Bruce asking, "People pay for housing?"

Im surprised no one else seems to have said this, but it’s kinda poetic that his parents’ murderer was unmasked as Bruce since he blames himself for their deaths.

"Come on, Champ! Let's go watch our parents die! It's what we deserve." Love the mixed throwback to Burt Ward's 1966 version of the Robin, the aesthetic of the 90's animated series, and Heath Ledger's joker. That's a wild selection of flavors that worked really well together.

This episode is going to go down as one of the show's greatest. I also love the title- probably their most clever by far. Its so layered. Its a reference to two Batman movies. It makes fun of the fact that they keep redoing Batman's origin story again and again. And it references the fact that Batman can never move on from the moment of his origin- his parents' deaths.
