It's not only just great representation. But it's just a healthy and wholesome example of a relationship. Younger audiences who begin dating need to know what is being there for someone and being honest with your feelings. The two extremes being Romeo and Juliet and Bella and Edward, Lumity is very healthy and appropriate for the age of these characters

Something I just realized while watching this is that: for someone we only ever see in pictures (and not even entirely), Luz's father has such a massive influence on this story. Luz's family moved to Gravesfield to be closer to a hospital for her father. If they hadn't, Luz would never have found the portal to the Demon Realm and would never have met Amity and the others. He's also the one who gave Luz her first Azura book, which is a massive influence on her life, and also one of the first thing Amity and Luz bonded over. So kudos to Dad! Even while he was not there, he was making the life of his daughter better.

You can tell, that just like Luz's mother, her dad was one awesome character to have such a positive influence in both the time he was there and afterwards. In a weird way, he was to Luz what Flapjack was to Hunter. Always being there for them.

Remember when the Grom reveal happened, and we all thought, "Okay, that's great, but it's probably going to take until the end of the next season for them to be official, if not longer"? I'm so glad that long wait never happened. These episodes are going to go down in history for their part in progressing this kind of representation in animation, and I couldn't be happier.

Amity was so bad at hiding how into Luz she was. Girl really said "Who's Amity?!" And the moment she saved Luz, the pure shock on her face, like "Why do I feel like I'm gonna explode!?" They are written like actual teenagers, awkward as hell, constantly unsure, but at the same, SO sure how they feel about each other. God, I wish I could've could have had what they had or at least the experience in high school. Thanks to them, a new generation gets to have these two as inspiration. Looking back at this, seeing the development of both Luz and Amity was an awesome journey. Sure it was the classic rivals to friends to lovers, but it's a trope that still works if done correctly and Lumity was done beautifully. Its always a treat to see people react to these moments. From the Grom dance all the way to their first kiss. Easily one of my favorite couples of all time for both wholesomeness and representation.

Their relationship was so wholesome and loveable. It was never toxic as some animation relationships turn into because they need the drama. Theirs was a prefect representation of how to do a relationship right and maybe helped any kid with their first crush or trying to be in a relationship and how now to screw it up. That's the BEST kind of message that Disney could put into their kids shows.

I have a show recommendation, It’s called Mobile Suit Gundam Witch From Mercury. It’s an Anime, The English dub actor for the main protagonist is Jill Harris, aka Charlie from Hazbin Hotel. The show has a strong LGBTQ focus, fun characters, a cohesive and strong story, has this mix of light hearted moments and very dark moments, and some incredible action sequences. After the Owl House ended, I felt a need to find something to get me engaged and make me look forward to some again, that’s when I found Witch from Mercury. As someone who wasn’t even that big of an anime fan, I highly recommend this show to you. Season two is having episodes out every Sunday so if you’re interested, now Is a pretty good time to start watching.

I love this! I'm so glad y'all talked about when you started shipping them because for me I think it was the ice glyph episode that did it. Something about Amity putting Luz in time-out to keep her safe but not being mad when she got out and let her help, their dynamic as they worked together as a team for the first time, I was sold. There's a lot I love about that episode that I could go into for ages but that would be a way longer comment I don't have the energy for right now, it's definitely underrated imo. The episode where Amity and Luz went into Willow's mind solidified it for me. The communication, the comforting, the hug, it was the start of something great and I sensed it in the air. I'm so glad all these character traits didn't "magically disappear" once they got together to create useless conflict. They've always been healthy for each other and they always will be, and seeing it be represented on screen was beautiful. Truly a highlight in queer history.
