We visited Paris in the summer of ‘22 and our dinner at the then recently opened Brasserie Belanger was one of the highlights of our trip. We were initially hoping to score a reservation at Brasserie Dubillot on Rue Saint-Deniz. But after several unsuccessful tries with their online rez system we opted to take their advice and try their “new place” Brasserie Bellanger. We were not disappointed and glad to see, neither were you!

Each time I’ve gone, my favorite is always Salade frisee aux lardons…I’ve gotten it at every restaurant (if it was on the menu)…I’ve tried making it here and though successful it’s just not the same without French conversations going on about me! And a Creme brûlée to end the meal!!! With entrecote as thee main dish, what could be better!!!🥰

How long have I been following (and watching) your channel? A couple of years, I think? (Is that even possible?) Not long enough to remember to eat before I watch it!!! I see you have uploaded and immediately I hop over and watch. The thought of my stomach never enters my mind. Who knows how many unhealthy choices I have made because I watched your video on an empty stomach. I never understood tomatoes, living in the high Rocky Mountain desert of New Mexico. Tomatoes cut and tasted like cardboard. No thank you. Then I married my late husband and he would talk about how much he loved tomatoes. His grandmother grew orange striped tomatoes and they are so good. So I see them in the market and grab several. We are on the East Coast by now and I am about to taste a real tomato? No. Not quite cardboard but I am underwhelmed. Then, in Tennessee, a kid who works with us find tomatoes growing in a corner of his backyard. And he tries them. I don’t believe it. It gets to 20 below and I have NEVER heard of wild tomatoes. He insists I try a slice and none of my ‘no thank you’s’ sway him. Rude kid. So I take the slice and he supplanted my husband as my new best friend. Whoa! THAT is what a tomato tastes like!!! It only took 38 years but I got it. They were heirlooms behaving like a normal plant should behave. Did I save any seeds? Yes. Correctly? No. I learned a very important lesson. If you cannot smell the tomato, you won’t taste it, either. I also learned that a good tomato is a good tomato, they don’t typically taste like cardboard and I also learned (too late) how to save seeds correctly. Before I fractured my spine, I was a good cook. I made an excellent Onion soup and my daughter who traveled the world in 5 star hotels 🙄 tells me I made the best chocolate mouse she has ever tasted. Now I want to go back to the kitchen. First, though, I need a kitchen. France? Italy? Can no longer afford the US. Great video!!! I need to rewatch it after I eat to get the names of these places. The first view was all about the food, the competition for who gets the last part of the dessert and the less than stealthy wine abductions.

Thank you for this delicious video. To my opinion, La fontaine de Mars is definitely a VERY VERY touristic Brasserie, especially for Americans since President Obama came there for a dinner a few years ago. Considering the type of restaurants you seem to like, with yummy and traditional french dishes, i recommend you the 2 following ones : "Au petit riche" (9th arrondissement) : a well established Brasserie since 1854 with a very Parisian style "Le 14 juillet" (14th arrondissement) : a more rustic style bistro with crazy desserts (giant profiterole, tiramisu "all-you-can-eat") for which you should keep some space.

The "welsh" is a popular plate on the northern shore (Picardie and Pas-de-Calais) facing Great Britain. It can be considered a french tribute to English taste (cheddar, ham, egg).It recently took place into the Parisian brasseries, it is not very common yet. In the rest of France it is completely unknown. Maybe it would be a great idea to introduce it in mountain regions, ski stations, or in Québec.
