@@MusikCassette you really really need to work on your English grammar. There are definitely ways to reorganize your sentences alot easier to understand. While they aren't wrong it's just simply not correct either. Ron wouldn't be for legislation on Marijuana. It literally would be a waste of time to him and unproductive. He hates hippes ! While yes he believes as an American you have the right to destroy your life as you see fit. Such as eating unhealthy bars to your satisfaction, he doesn't care. He is also not a big eater on digesting vegetation, large juicy red meat is his go to meals with a glass of whiskey. As a carpenter and woodworker, Marijuana would simply get in his way . Alcohol is always talked about being an inhibitor and you can do things at a high level while drunk you can be considered a master at your craft which he does to prove a point. Marijuana is not looked at the same way nor treated the same way. While both are influences on the mind and body Ron simply doesn't care and finds it not very useful. It's weed, weed is an invasive plant

I think it's just at odds with Ron's view of what's masculine and what's not. Seems like weed to him is a weak hippie's substitute for the only "manly" drug - alcohol. Preferably whisk(e)y. Yeah, certain aspects of the show did not age well. Such as them making Michael out to be some loon even though everything he was saying was exactly right and there is no real argument against his points. (Though he probably shouldn't have smoked pot _in_ the office but I'm pretty sure he got in trouble more for smoking pot than having done it in the office)

It was satirical to show people in Indiana being so offended by cannabis use even though people in more liberal parts of the country have been pro-legalization for decades. It's not so much that public opinion has changed in the last ten years, but that legislation has caught up with it. Of course, cannabis use (even for medical purposes) remains illegal in Indiana to this day, with simple possession punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine on the first offense.
