She was very honest about her experience and "told it like it was" as we say. How would YOU feel if everyone did not give you a chance simply because of some preconceived notion? I haven't been a regular SNL watcher for over a decade... I will catch it occasionally, so I know who most of the cast are. I will admit that I didn't know much about Leslie and that I thought she always played the same part no matter the skit. Now, after hearing this podcast and her frustration... I get it... This has been my favorite podcast out of all of them. It was wonderful hearing her perspective of SNL, the writers and stand up comedy. I just purchased the Audible version of her book so I can hear her life in her voice.

when Leslie started talking about how the "newjacks" (love it!) don't wanna learn the song, the arrangements, they just wanna come up and sing, I love the analogy between writing and performing stand-up and writing and performing music, a lot of similarities there!! Some people think they can sing in the shower so they can be the next pop idol, or an amazingly talented "bedroom guitarist" assumes they can hit the stage and become famous. You have to put in the work, get booed, have technical mishaps and maybe violent encounters happen. You hone your craft, while sometimes having to be your own business manager so you get some (close to) fair money. You gotta pay your dues... Love Leslie, so fuckin real, genuine, sweet when you're cool but will fuck u up if you cross her, fucking love it!!

The main thing wrong with the Ghostbusters movie was the end action sequence that was way too long. More little funny moments all throughout would improve it. It felt like too much money was spent on it. It seems super hard to make a funny comedy that is also high concept / high budget. Probably the studio gets involved too much when a lot of money is involved. Still, most people gave it 6 or 7 out of 10, pretty good scores. Lots of negative noise from a minority should not matter so much...
