"Solitude is a frequent subject of Tuareg songs and poetry, as nomads are habitually living far from their homes or society. This happens because the usual nomadic itinerary, droughts or armed conflicts that lead to escape into exile. Bombino is asking the world to tell him the solution to the problem of solitude because it hurts his heart. He becomes sick from solitude and is looking for a cure." lyrics What shall I do? Oh, what shall I do Against this endless solitude It is located in the bottom of my heart And lives on it every moment My friends, do you know What could cool my boiling heart?

A nomad is a member of a community of people who live in different locations, moving from one place to another, so I am not sure if they live far from home or take their homes with them. These lyrics sound much more like a reference to the endless solitude derived from longing for the beloved, "what could cool my boiling heart...."

Interesting use of wording Maga is magician - the name title sounds like Maga phonetically but I’m not sure what it means. As this is my name & used for Wethepeople currently I am interested- 4 anyone reading plz let me know. Maga is “itself” in Hungarian - in Spanish & Italian is magi source creation or sorceress , in Nigerian it’s a slang word for being hustled or cursed ; I believe linked to the use of said Magic etc . Many cultures use the word some overlap in meaning - this came up in a search I was doing on a related post! ;)

My great uncle was a merchant in the north-west of Mali. He spent 40 years there and spoke Temasheq. My cousin, his daughter, speaks it fluently too. My uncle used to work with Tuareg traders and taught me a few words that I've now forgotten. One day I was having lunch at some downtown restaurant in a big Canadian city, and heard a song that reminded me of the Mauritanian-Malian style of music so much. Learned the name of the artist, Bombino, and found out he'd just done a set near me that I missed out on only a week before! I would have loved to have met Bombino and shared some stories and tea with him. So far from the homeland we were practically neighbors in! My father's family from Houdh e-Chargui, frequent visitors to Mali's Tuareg north east, selling their wares all the way down to Bombino's Nigerien Tuareg community.

I caught him by accident in Lincoln square Chicago at square roots and he killed it. Everybody left all the other stages and just straight vining with him. I caught him next year at the blues fest and got a free signed record cuz I was last in line and their iphone died so they couldn't ring me up. He's a super cool dude and his live shows are always special because by the end they start freestyle jamming and it always builds up to some crazy crescendo. I highly recommended you catch him whenever possible

I am from india, even though i dont understand the laungage or follow, but just for the talent and his magical spell on instumental has done wonders, even the vocal and chorous. As i am ernest devotee of music, it doesnt have any boundaries, laungage or barriers. I am adoarnt follower of this great instrument, so clear and crispy. Too good for a solo rider like me. Thank you brothers, Stay safe, God bless you all.

I saw Bombino in Cambridge, MA last week. Like his hero, Jimi Hendrix, he combines a wonderful natural talent with a deep heart to create music that thrills the soul. Such spirit, such energy. More Bombino!!!!

the Sahel region and Sahara are full of beautiful culture and music, once upon a time there was peace in that region when they pledged allegiance to a country in North Africa called Morocco and its king, I believe only they can re-establish the long lost peaceful times, Not a western country but a fellow African Country.
