wow. I'm 42 and I never had a wedding. I feel like I was robbed of my dream. My husband surprised me with an elope in Vegas. He proposed and pressured me to get married on the same day. I was wearing a burgundy dress and had no idea of his plans. we had no family, my children weren't present, etc. I begged him to wait. He threatened me and said if we didn't get married then we would never get married. I cried the entire time. It's not what I wanted. At that point we were together 11 years, so he meant what he said!
