So the inside of bottle cap would sit on wood you screwed on ur metal tube ? Right ?

@evanyi70413 жыл бұрын
Fabricating a glass bottle would be extremely hard since you would need to cut the bottom off. The neck would also need to be wide and round because that's where the hub of the rim sits on. It may break easily since it is made of glass. I would recommend using large plastic bottles.

Interesting! I remember when every service station had a bubble balancer. I often mount my own tires and bead balance, which works well with narrower aspect ratios but 65 is the cutoff; don’t even try bead balancing a 55 series tire.

I successfully balanced wider than 55 tires...
@lanedexter63033 жыл бұрын
@@rafars2246 I must admit I am impressed. My results on multiple sets of 65 profile tires have been marginally acceptable. Beads are great on my bike or the 85 profile tires on my truck. Usually, the low & wide ones need two plane dynamic balancing.

The idea is good, thank you. Normally when tyres are replaced, the balancing and disposal charges are applied in UK so it's good to know, but they charge you anyway so nothing anyone can do about it. There are ways of fixing punctures without taking tyre off the rim so those require no balancing either, but thank you for showing us a brilliant idea.

The problem (reason why bubble balancers are no longer used) is that you can't balance out shimmy that way.
@stevecampbell762011 ай бұрын
You can get a dynamic balance (shimmy) if you use the four weight method that was pantented in 1966. learned this over 50 years ago and it works perfectly. patents.google.com/patent/US3474677A/en

The problem is you can't guarantee the wheel sits on the bottle 100% Square... I'm on my 2nd design of this type now and it's not accurate enough. I have the bubble separate from the cone and I have the bubble on the wheel instead

there is a way to balance tires and wheels>>>>>TRY THIS OUT YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOS, SOMETHING TO GAIN, A SMOOTH DRIVING CAR WITH NO SHAKING NO VIBES, NO LED, NO BALANCING, IT'S GREAT some tire have a yellow dot on the face of the tires, and a red dot, now if you have a red dot then do not bother with the yellow dot, line the red dot right in line with the valve stem, i don't think you will need any waits tho, and theirs a other way to balance the tires if you haven't any red dot, look good in side the tires before you put them on the rims, you should see where the tires are joined to gather, it looks like a patch in the tire but it's where that put the tires to gather, could be 3 or 4 inches wide, look to see how long it is, how ever long it is take a chock and mark the centre of it right in the middle, you cant miss it it is under the rubber of the in side of the tire, but you can see it tho, i do my wheels like this all the time i do not have any led waits on my wheels, and no shaking at any speed , so i don't know why other people cant do it to, our maybe the people are doing all of this just to make a video, well that's OK to, oh, and is you see to little patches in side the tire, then remember, you are puling half the heavy part of the tire , 1 PART ON THE HEAVY PART OF THE TIRE ON RIGHT SIDE OF THE VALVE STEM, AND ONE PART OF THE HEAVY PART OF THE TIRE ON THE HEAVY SIDE OF THE VALVE STEM, IF YOU HAVE 2 LOOKS LIKE PATCHES TO JOIN THE RUBBER TO GATHER IN SIDE THE TIRES, WELL, NOW YOU HAVE 2, CHECK THE SPACE IN BETWEEN THEM AND DIVED THAT IN THE MIDDLE, MARK IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DISTANCE THE PATCHES ARE APART MARK IT IN THE MIDDLE WITH A CHOCK, AND ADD THE CHOCK MARK ON THE VALVE STEM RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE VALVE STEM, AND IF YOU CANT FIND NOTHING IN THE TIRE WELL YOUR GOOD TO GO THE TIRE IS NOT OUT OF BALANCE, YOU CAN PUT THIS TIRE ON THE RIM ANY PLACE YOU WONT TO, HAVE A GREAT DRIVE
@marigner Жыл бұрын
@@robbaird5972 That Sounds very interesting; did you ckeck yout wheels with a modern machine too ? Has anybody tried that yet ? It basically means, if I have understood it right, to align the heavy part of the tire with the heavy part of the rim, which is where the valve stem is. Or is it maybe just the opposite, that would make more sense ?

if you dont put the bubble onto the bottle cap perfectly the tyre will be more unbalanced than when u started.
@evanyi70413 жыл бұрын
Yes you do need to make sure the bubble is in the centre, that's why you always adjust the bubble first. However, a factory made bubble balancer works in the same way. As the moment you move it, the ground level changes slightly and you have to adjust the bubble again. I do have a real balancer, but I made this one for fun.
@edwardslaughter39822 жыл бұрын
@@evanyi7041 I was debating building something like this, thank you for sharing this build. How does your makeshift tire balancer compare to the factory built one? The make shift one seems good enough for a quick fix, but I'm guessing your factory made one has way better accuracy?
@busancun5 жыл бұрын
A bold invention, but you have to buy some basic tools in order to DIY. Your way of taking off the weight might damage the rim edge and the weight itself, even worse, harm yourself.
@evanyi70415 жыл бұрын
True, but usually people without basic tools won't be interested in this video. I would've bought weight pliers if these were new rims, which defeats the purpose of spending less than $10. I did remove the weight with one hand since the other hand was holding camera, which of course 2 hands and a better position would be a lot safer. I used stick on weights for balancing simply because they are cheaper and compatible with alloy rims(I bought a big case), so the old ones went into garbage.
