Another exercise that might help students I’m understand and use the words is for them to make the wants/needs/priorities with concrete words on the other side shelter, mansion, car, race care, food, dessert etc. This would be an authentic expression of language.

Thank you for your suggestion. There was an exercise using concrete words like that: health care, latest mobile phone, bills, etc. Due to time limitation, the lesson cannot be stretched beyond, but in a live session it is adapted individually.

@learnmodernstandardarabic
@learnmodernstandardarabic Жыл бұрын
Yes, in a short story video. I can't remember now which one. 🙈 Basically أن An links words, something like "that" or "to" in English. أُريد أن آكُلَ. 'Ureedu 'an 'aakula. I want (to) eat. طلَب منّي أن أذهبَ إلى المدرسَة. Ţalaba minnee an 'adhHaba 'ila almadrasah. He asked me (to) go to school. A verb after this particle take a fatHah vowel instead of Dammah- subjunctive case المُضارِع المَنْصوب We can always replace an and the present tense verb after with the gerund of that verb, hence we can also say: أُريد الأكْلَ. 'Uriidu al-'akla. I want to eat. In Arabic we are literalling saying: I want eating. طلب منّي الذّهابَ إلى المدرسة. Ţalaba minnee adh-dhahaaba 'ila al-madrasah. He asked me to go (going literally) to school. Hope this helps!

appreciate if anyone can help me understand what this means ? وبهذه الطريقة, استمرت شهرزاد في نسج القصص المثيرة والرائعة للملك شهريار ليلة بعد ليلة, مع تعلمها وتعلمه من درسها وعجائبها. especially the last part : مع تعلمها وتعلمه من درسها وعجائبها. Not sure what this last part means . thanks
@learnmodernstandardarabic
@learnmodernstandardarabic Жыл бұрын
TranslationL In this way, Shahrazad continued weaving exciting and marvelous stories for King Shahryar night after night, with her learning and his learning from her lessons and wonders. Ta'allum تَعَلُّم is the gerund of verb ta'allama تِعَلَّم to learn. It means learning - a noun. You can see the possessive pronouns attached to it(her = ـها and his = ـه ). Same with عَجائِب wonders or marvels; in otehr contxt also means miracles.
