When visiting the States Iwhich we do quite often..) this is the song that embodies the ‘long & winding roads’, the landscape, but also the longing. Thank you very much Dave for this wonderful lesson!

Dang, Dave...... I requested this less than 24 hours ago and here it is. Thank you.... I'm pretty sure NO ONE is serving the KZbin guitar community more than you are. Thank you. (Sopranos...... has there ever been a better TV show?)

The Sopranos were the best.

Fantastic lesson! Really appreciate the way you've broken this song down and deserve many extra points for naming those chords.

Great Job with such an great song. I worked the European tour on that first album and out side of Ricki never heard very many get those transitions right. Excellent job.

My favourite song on the album as well. Thanks so much. I would suggest though, that there is no 7th in that F# chord. Can't hear a seventh on the original record. But I'm nitpicking.

Yeah I am just too lazy to keep moving the pinky from the 4th string to the 2nd. LOL

Amazing. The best song on a magical album. Love the chord shapes and changes. The only thing that bothered me about this song .... Some may not get the references regarding the gas station brands as times advances. Its impossible not to hear Rickie voice and lyrics in my mind while strumming this one now that have the lesson down. Well played and nicely taught. Even got the car horn nailed. :) thanks!

such a great one using machineries as a metaphor for love.. visualization she created on that song was nothing short of amazing. there's a great live version 2 it's neat to see the percussion that you don't quite hear on the actual record until you see it being played sort of in the background. and it's even got the amazing Steve gadd I think on the drums

Rickie plays this song a lot and her soon to be released autobiography has the same name, Last Chance Texaco. It's my favorite song on the album (today) but that's like picking which piece of pie I'll have for dessert: Lemon Icebox or Key Lime.
@DavesGuitarChannel4 жыл бұрын
I don't know what lemon icebox is but now I'm curious
@hongfang25084 жыл бұрын
@@DavesGuitarChannel Lemon icebox is popular here in the south. It's a lot like key lime in texture. Best lemon icebox is so rich it spreads out on the plate a bit and is topped with shaved almonds served at better restaurants. At its worst, it's still might good (often found in better southern cafeteria style eateries).

What is your outro music, Dave? Gorgeous.

Thanks, it's an acoustic intro to a song I wrote for my band The Big Angry, in the early 2000s called Denied.
