I am surprised at the comments broadcast. If you cannot forgive, how can you move forward. Usually, you must never forget, but you must forgive, as difficult as that is. This guy, Rutagengwa, makes me truly concerned about Rwanda’s future, as bright as it seems. Will there be a never-ending cycle of retribution? Not having that, was the Rwandese miracle.

No, it's not Rwandan Genocide please Correct your Title on this matter Actually It's "Genocide Against Tutsi"! This is the correct term, and it's very essential when telling history to be very accurate about that history.
@patriot_20225 ай бұрын
We understand that view, but "Rwandan Genocide" is widely used as well and is synonymous with "Genocide Against Tutsi". It is still clear to anyone who hears 'Rwandan Genocide' that it was a genocide against the Tutsi by the Hutus. Not incorrect.
@blank-ent2503 ай бұрын
@@patriot_2022 yeah but it's more about proper name and proper meaning of those two names, because when telling history, you don't bring up considerations, and journalists should be professional bcz if maybe you were in Rwanda where it occurred and use that term, it would be considered very inappropriate, so when creating history content plz consider victims before other audiences, Rwandan Genocide term is simply wrong, bcz the term "Genocide Against Tutsi" was created to mention the victims in the term itself also as specific group that Genocide went against, so "Rwandan Genocide" doesn't mention any Group and it is very crucial to mention that specific Group of people that why it was created it is Proper Name, in simple words "Rwandan Genocide" it is widely wrong term.

@@blank-ent250 I agree. And I respect it. But please don't be offended when people from outside widely just simply call it the Rwandan Genocide. They are not ignoring the victims -it's often clear who, people just tend to call it by the country it occurred. Because the rest of the world knows about countries more than their constituent populations. So if someone hears 'Rwandan Genocide' they go, 'so who perpetrated it against who' -Hutu community against the Tutsi community. People also tend to recognize that while it was against the Tutsi, many moderate Hutus were also killed. So they want to be more inclusive in their description, to also respect the Hutu lives that were lost for supporting the Tutsis. It makes sense to not ignore that fact. Because though few, they mattered too. It looks to the outside world that the genocidaires killed people across the Rwandan spectrum.
@blank-ent2503 ай бұрын
@@patriot_2022 Alright, maybe you got it wrong because of the tone maybe but i didn't get offended bcz i know what most of people means when they say it like that, but the reason i am pointing on this matter is that even here or else where in the world , when they say "Rwandan Genocide" mostly Foreign Media in early years after Genocide they used it as denial term, try to show that Every Rwandan was about to get massacred but the truth is that Only Tutsi were being killed, i know moderate Hutus were killed also but as they were trying to help, they were not the targets, even here we take them as heroes so much, but the Bigger Picture is that Tutsi were Targets, and when Telling story you have to be just simply professional and state everything as the way it is when you use that name here we take it as simply ignorance and denial of History and there is reason it is taken that way, so it should be respected, and this video was created by "Professional Journalists" with respected media house so they should just know better, i don't know if you are getting my concept but mostly that term is used by Denialists Around the globe, that's why i pointed it out, in every Genocide that has happened in the History, some of other people also got killed without being targets but because of different reasons, it's doesn't mean that they are ignored,No; Mostly they are included in that event as heroes or in other way to mention them respectfully.

@@blank-ent250 Well explained. Thank you. I will be reminding others as well to take it into account. It's y'all in Rwanda and the views of those who were victims that should matter more 👍

This is the mistake done by former colonial powers. The Belgium favoured one ethnic group to use it as agents of rule. Unfortunately independence was handed over to the favoured group and the rest were left as the second citizens in their own country. This led to hatred against the ruling group. The later (Tutsi) did not predict what disaster ahead. This can also repeat in other countries like K were the British did the same fault. Typical example is the Maumau uprising, some ethic groups were agents of the British but this was not as in Rwanda after independence the Maumau isolated all those who supported the British. I advise you to use any resources to break barriers among ethnic groups otherwise you fall in the same trap as Rwandese did
@isayamazani223 жыл бұрын
Some leaders just after attaining independence used their resources to unite their people from different groups: tribes, religions, race etc. While other countries rushed for maendeleo where not all citizens feel independent in their own countries
