I know I am late to the party but I just had a chance to watch and finish this series and OMG!! I thought this was the best tv mini series I have ever seen in a long long time. Mainly because I saw this series come up for nomination for best series in the Emmys (and Golden Globe too I think) !! Now how this series DID NOT win anything is a shocker to me ,,, and how Brie Lawson DID NOT win anything is a double shocker to me ,, for her to memorize all those scientific and chemistry terms and learn the language NO ONE else can do that ,, just an amazing series. Bring on Season II ,, the cliff hanger was wow!!

Wow, a perfect score - that's rare!!!👏 Now, I'm even more excited to watch it b/c it's my most highly anticipated limited series this year. In fact, I often watch your reviews, as well as other reviewers whose opinions I also respect, before I start watching a movie/tv show to get an idea of whether it's worth the watch, especially if one has a slow development. Specifically speaking, if your rating is scored above average, but a movie/tv show isn't catching my interest from the get-go, then I'll usually give a movie/tv show a further chance to develop [in the hope of improving] before I decide to cease watching it completely. That particular choice is based on the fact that I find your opinion often coincides with mine -- not all the time but most often times, and it's even better when the other reviewers have similar opinions. Besides, there are too many movies/tv shows being released expeditiously, on an average weekly basis, that it's not worth spending on one that'll be a time-waster. In any event, thanks for this great review & for always being one of the first to release a review, immediately after a movie/tv show premieres. 👍👍

Not very often I see eye to eye with critics, but your review is spot on. I completely agree Brie Larson hits a home run. The rest of the cast was very good as well, delivered believable performances. Lewis Pullman's performance was also fantastic, the apple did not fall far from the tree.

I have just watched the 3rd episode and I loved it! For me the most moving part was the point of view of the dog, it wasn't weird at all and I found it so sad. I do not understand why Brie Larson is hated so much by some people, I think she is a great performance. I'm enjoying this series very much.

Just finished it, and it's really good, the odd episode is probably my favorite. It felt like they had to check a few subject boxes sometimes, but it's not overbearing. Larson is great and almost all side characters felt like a good addition when they're introduced or given more light.

Incredible how the script includes so much that WAS NOT in the book and "augments" story arcs of characters for the series. Doesn't even seem like they even read the book. Using contemporary themes (activism for a neighborhood slated for a freeway) and changing the age of a character and how she felt about her husband is so unnecessary. The story was good on its own and didn't need modernization. It's watchable, but as my English teacher always said, "The book is better."

@@frankreynolds9930 because they changed the ethnicity and age of a main character for starters, that isn't "compressing" it changes the entire way you view the story. If I saw the TV show first and then read the book I would be confused about that character.

seriously I never appreciate Brie Larson for Ms Marvel. But she really did bring soul to the show. Now I've a bone to pick. It's not common for a white man living in a black community back then, right? It feels like Sloane need to be there just to serve a minority reason.

Strongly disagree with reviewers enthusiasm. Although cinematography is very good, and design. Ultimately was disappointed with the series story telling, too many loose ends, f on subplots that ayou think are going to be important but ultimately are given short-shrift. I think it could have been more cohesive.

It was entertaining. However, if you read the book you know that many of the satisfying payoffs are GONE. Why? It's so unfortunate. For example, she never declares on national TV that she is an atheist. Elizabeth is fairly hostile to religion in the book, but unlike the "real" Elizabeth, the series shies away from it. She does not brandish a knife when her TV producer tries to rape her. She does not return to Hastings at the end and fire her miserable manager. In the book, she then says to her manager, "You're just not smart enough" which echoes a comment he made to her near the beginning. These are HUGE touch points of the book. Disappointing.

@@Whats.Next.VideosAll she did was correctly point out that the vast majority of film critics are white males so when / if white male critics didn't like "A Wrinkle In Time" - a "love letter to women of color" as Brie put it - she expressed that she couldn't let herself care what white male critics thought of the movie. AND she correctly pointed out that there needs to be more published critics who are women, POC and women POC. So of course insecure white guys collectively got their panties in a bunch, and the insecure white women seeking the males' approval. It's fine if guys don't like her. But please stop whining about it!! Deal with your issues especially about strong women who speak their mind! Don't watch her movies. Don't spend your time watching reviews of her movies so you can then spend your time posting negative, bigoted comments!! Seriously get an F'ing life!! 🤦🤦
