I find it odd the sorts of things that get mages to receive a sealing designation. What sorts of mages and feats do you think should've been given one?

Zouken definitely deserves one, not just because of what he did to Sakura, but also because he became something like a Dead Apostle with his magecraft, and I don't think the Clock Tower would like that if they knew.

Most big schemes done by mages in the series would probably warrant a sealing designation if the mages Ascociation was actually able to fully catch onto it. For example Soren arayas plan or zouken and the other 3 families plan with the grail.

@@TritonComet Zolgen escapes the title of Dead Apostle on a technicality: his soul still rots, and he loses more and more of his memories the more his Crest Worms die, so he only knows that he has to win the War so that he can achieve 'true' immortality. He no longer remembers the real reason why he seeks that, only that it's important to him. A 'true' Dead Apostle would have their memories perfectly preserved, remembering why they did whatever they did in their (un)lives.

@@ivanruzic2592to be fair the main calling card for being a dead apostle is the rejection of the human order by being a servant of crimson moon which zouken isn’t really doing

That was an interesting lesson,I never thought that the sealing designation system was too brutal and it's too tyranical,taking over and away the lives and insides of accomplished mages for their own benefit.

I mean yea basically every mage with some kind of grand plan has to hide it from the mages Ascociation. Dr heartless, zouken, Soren Arya, marisbury basically all of atlas by being a separate organization.

Thanks for the lesson. I find it odd that Aoko got a sealing designation for making a copy of herself but Zoken Mato effectively made himself immortal with his crest worms and the clock tower didn't seem to care. Looking forward to the next lesson

Probably because Zouken’s method is degenerative. He loses bits of his soul every cycle, so it is not an ideal immortality.

*Touko but the main reason why is because Zouken is a highly respected mage within the Clock Tower so ppl naturally dont try him. That and his "immortality" isnt really that good

Because it's politics. The conections with those in power are what matters, Aoko is a powerful rogue by that definition. That's why Rin could scape hers, someone backed her.

Wow, these sealing destinations are definitely one of the most frightening things you could encounter as a Mage. If only everybody in the clock tower can get along on a single subject. Maybe the designations wouldn't be that severe or strict. But just taking away people's lives and forcing them to live in hiding. I don't see that as preserving Mage craft. What do you think Dai? Because I feel like the more they want to reach the root, the more they get in each other's way because they want to be the ones that get there first.

​@@otakudaikun the magus are extremly stupid they know each person Is different and has a different origin and if there Is the slightest incompatibility the danger of dying Is immense. So why they don't improve what they are good and collaborate with others in areas they arent witout looking like kid that see the neighbors have a greener garden placing them in sealing designation. The next lesson Is leylines the magic circuit of the Planet very intresting. How much Power a being should have someone to live relativly safe in nasuverse with all this dangers including chaos, angry planets, beasts, conceptual end of the world scenarios (fgo, illya magical girl, etc.)?thanks for Reading.

Last time I was early, sealing designations were already decided deep within Albion. Last time I was so early Touko Aozaki was still on her first Sealing Designation. Last time I was so early Bazzett was still looking forward to working together with Kirei.

The Mages' Association wants to preserve mystery, yet are actively stifling the growth of mages with the potential of reaching a level of mystery similar to the Age of Gods? Sounds counterintuitive

Human selfishness and greed at its finest. If the heads at the mages association were willing to pool their resources together for the greater good, surely it would speed up the process making a path to the root infinitely more easier for them and benefit all of humanity in the process. But that's not what makes a mage good in this universe. It does make for very dramatic storytelling however

TLDR: Sealing Designations are a tool for the Clocktower higher-ups to steal cool stuff from less powerful mages.

@@Lobomaru02 Not exactly. While Zelretch actions cannot be stopped by any average magus of CT, he cannot interfere with the timeline too much. Or else that timeline he deeply involved in would become main timeline and if that timeline reach a dead-end, all others timeline are doom too.

If the clocktower really known what happened in FGO . Ristuka will definitely get a Sealing Designation . There’s actually a fan made manga , that Ritsuka got sealed & cut to pieces . Unfortunately for mankind Abigail found out and summoned Lovecraftian in to the world.

@@otakudaikun could have sworn that in the in between time from the end of the solomon stuff and the start of the lostbelts it was heavily implied that a lot of ritsuka's accomplishments in the singularities were toned down/redacted in the accessible recordings because it'd net them vague "trouble" with the clocktower, said trouble implied to be a sealing designation for their servant compatibility.

@@voideddragon9104 I do remember that, but I guess that's more about what Ritsuka accomplished rather than what they're capable of as a mage. Can't recall the exact reasoning though.

@@otakudaikun fair, but with how they can bond with servants with completely different alignments and even get them to work well together. I can see a magus thinking there's something special or magical going on, even if in actuality it seems to just be ritsuka treating them as actual people rather than familiars. Magi seem to tend towards overthinking and overreacting to some things. Think of it like this though, how would you react/what would you think was happening if some presumably normal person managed to make nearly every single world leader like them and make them all work together fluidly? Why one would think It's almost like Magic, one that could make everyone happy. What would a magus' first instinct be to someone like that?
