Hey there! The KZbin gods just showed me your content and I’m so glad! Excited to hear more from you. I am going into my third year flower farming in Pennsylvania and I also sell to florists. I don’t feel like there is a ton of content out there about selling to florists so glad I found you!

Very well expressed. You are being businesslike and very practical which are key to your success. It would be useful to know how you keep track of income and expenses and how much you make on your farm.
@abundantbloomsflowerfarm16 сағат бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I do enjoy discussing the business aspect of farming. I am pretty low key...I track everything now through Quicken as far as income and expenses. I might actually change that, but I find Quick Books so expensive as a small farm, and I don't need payroll or any of those part of it. I am actually exploring changing to accounting directly through my Novo business account that I use for my business bank account.

I don't know how you pack everything you do into a day! I worked with your husband, and learned of your farm through him. Your a former U S A F Air Man. I connected indirectly with you, My son is an Air Man. Thank you so much for your service Ruth Ann 🇺🇲 God is good, and abundant blessings flow because of him. It has been awesome to watch you grow, and I can't wait to see where God takes you and your family. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you again for some great points!! Love that you stress quality and relationships. You definitely must have your hands full, that must be very challenging but you are giving your children a great role model for hard work and dedication.

Thank you! Yes I do have my hands full with all the kids...it's a busy time of life, I could not do it without my husband who is such a great partner both in the farm and with the kids. I firmly believe quality and relationships are SO important!

@abundantbloomsflowerfarm absolutely! He has 6 more years then retirement however what I find the hardest is planting things directly in the ground knowing I may have to leave them behind one day

@@goatlovefun Oh yes...I would have a really hard time with that...I don't think you can add that to your household goods 🤣...We planted over 900 shrubs this last season...not to mention all my perennial....we are never moving 😍

New subscriber from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦 . Just starting out in the farming arena from 9-5 desk job as 46 yr old single mom of 2. I've been researching & learning from KZbin videos by numerous farmers from all over the world on various types of farming for about 2 years now. In the middle of this year I bought vacant land in an urban setting to develop into a flower and berry farm and shortly after that an oppertunity came along to take over a small established urban food farm from a friend. Nervous & excited about what this new road holds for me. Feeling blessed and hope to quit my full time day job soon to pursue this lifestyle for all it is and embrace fully everything it offers. I find your content unique, great quality and refreshing. It is genuinely useful info. I appreciate how honestly and generously you talk about failures and successes and that you really come across as wanting to help others do what you do. Good stuff! Well done. Thank you for creating your channel & sharing your knowledge and experience. Wishing you all the very best and I look forward to your future videos. 🌻🌼🌻

Hi Ruth Ann, How did you go about working with the florists you currently work with? When you started out flower farming was it intentional that you worked solely with florists?
@abundantbloomsflowerfarm2 күн бұрын
These are great questions. I am working on a video that will come out soon that will answer your second question. This is a link to a blog post that I wrote. I think it will partially answer your question for now…but I am working on creating a resource specifically to answer how to make your first florist connection. www.abundantbloomsflowerfarm.com/blog/why-i-sell-flowers-to-florists

I just came across your channel. I love the way you explain and how real you seem.❤ Do you pinch snapdragons?
@abundantbloomsflowerfarm2 күн бұрын
Oh thank you! That is so encouraging. I do not pinch snapdragons (sometimes they get pinched by accident though). This is because I sell to florists and I want one really tall stem large. If you sell retail I know a lot of people do pinch snapdragons.

Hello from Portland Oregon. I’m a 70+ yr old gramma, growing flowers in my backyard. I want to set up a self-serve stand in my driveway and sell to the local neighborhood . Your information is on target for me; although I want to keep my business small I’m hoping to contribute to my granddaughter’s college fund. I would love to learn more about quality in flowers. What do you look for, best cutting time and post harvest care. Glad I found you and thanks for sharing your expertise!
