Yeah, about that self-digesting 5.3: Stevie Ray Vaughan missed a note here and there and Babe Ruth struck out more than he homered. But a nice job showing how to go to from long block to running. Glad to see Pepper still takes her job of in-work inspections seriously, and Ripley still has you trained re: the "put-TUH. There. I've brought the ball back to you; now do your part.." And the best part of using stock parts is that when you break something in East Pumphandle Arkansas, you can get a replacement quickly. Always a good day when a UTI video drops.

Hello and thanks again for making a bracket for me! Lol I feel like I've watched all of your videos but I just caught something on this one on the second watch that I wasn't sure about. At around 18:45 he mentions how he removes the perch and sets it down on the frame then drills the holes in the new location. And that it sits about an inch and a half farther back. I could've sworn that it just sat down in the factory location on the frame. Is there a reason the perches had to be moved back? Was it to make room for the new radiator and fans? Thanks Emily!
@UglyTruckExperienceАй бұрын
Hey Will! Jerry does that to keep the engine tucked back against the firewall as close as possible. But since yours is a body swap also, it will fit differently. The bracket should still work, but if it doesn't, just box it up and send it back for a refund. Let us know how it goes!
@Big-WonkaАй бұрын
@UglyTruckExperience No no I'm not worried about your bracket at all! Haha sorry for the confusion. I just wasn't sure if it was because of clearance issues for a new radiator or fan. I can definitely make it work. I just didn't wanna move my perch if I didn't need to. Thanks for the reply!

I'm in the process of LS swaping my 72 gmc pick-up. What exhaust manifolds years will fit in this application? Thanks for the great videos you and your wife share with us.
@UglyTruckExperienceАй бұрын
We use stock exhaust manifolds from the donor trucks. Emily's 1970 has a engine and manifolds from a 2004 Yukon. If you are wanting some manifolds that give you a little more room you could go with some aftermarket manifolds. Hooker makes a really nice set and Summit has a few different options. I really do prefer the stock manifolds when at all possible though. My first truck was a 72 c10. Keep us posted. Jerry

Hey Tim. My first boss and the person who taught me how to build an engine would have us take the new oil pumps out of the box, take them apart, clean, inspect them and then install them. Most failures I ever encountered were bad or dirty parts. Thanks for watching. Always enjoy your comments. Jerry

"Blew up" was a little harsh... I only blew the head gakets. 😆 There's a teardown video on that engine if you scroll back a ways. They're really great engines actually! I have one in my 2008 GMC, and Jerry just towed an 82 C30 back from Tulsa with it. Thanks for tuning in, Trent!

I assume you haven't had suspicious AC failures. How many degrees of rotation? I've torn apart a few compressors before; they have oil holes that rely on gravity.
@UglyTruckExperienceАй бұрын
I have thought about that before. It's only rotated a few degrees and we haven't had any issues with any of them. That is something to think about though. Thanks for pointing that out. Jerry

Amazon swap harness?
@UglyTruckExperience29 күн бұрын
No, this is the stock harness from the donor. We haven't been very impressed with any of the aftermarket harnesses, and the stock makes it easy to incorporate things later, like AC, cruise control, headlamps, horns, etc. Thanks for tuning in!
