Lessons & Legacies: Erin Talks with Mama Jane

Grandparents are a blessing from the Lord!
2 years ago, our family visited with Mama Jane and Papa Bill to spend some time together making memories. Time at their home in South Carolina is always a treasure, from the beautiful garden surrounding their home to the incredible farm, filled with animals and adventures!
I sat down with Mama Jane to let her tell her story about what her life was like growing up, how she met and eventually married Papa Bill, and how they found their way to their little slice of heaven in the Palmetto State!
Because she’s a wealth of knowledge, I asked Mama Jane questions so that she could share her wisdom - Things that I cherish and have been so excited to be able to share with all of you! We discussed marriage, motherhood, raising a family, staying positive, and the power of prayer!
These special videos capture a glimpse into the legacy of our family, something I know my children will find great value in as they get older. I hope you’ll find something special in this video as I trust it will encourage you and surely bring a smile to your face!

This has to be the sweetest videos on KZbin. I love your grandparents and makes me miss my grandmother. I sure wish I had a video of her like this! I spent so many hours talking to her and hearing her stories. I have told my children and grandchildren the stories, but I'm not sure they will remember. I am 71 and my husband is 75. (I can't believe it)! We were married when I was 17 and he was 21. It will be 54 years on this Thursday, August 22. Don had just gotten home from Viet Nam. We have tried to raise our family for the Lord. Thank you for sharing your grandmother today and sharing her with all of us. God bless you. My grandparents raised me from a baby. I lost them both by the time I was 20. I raised myself from there. 53 now. I will call videos like this my bedtime story. I gives me comfort. I wish I could tell them both I love them and miss them everyday

I learned so many lessons from my mother in law. I knew her from my teenage years and she lived to be 96. Went to be with the lord 3 years ago. I miss her greatly. She was so full of knowledge. She could spend the day talking and laughing. A great day spent. ❤️

Agree! I really enjoyed learning about a young Janie! She went to school, got a degree, had a career, dated, had social experiences outside of her family. Living proof it’s possible to grow up and lead a good Christian life without so many silly restrictions.

Erin, I've gotta tell you , i met a lady today 90 years old. Its devine intervention that we met and how we met. I think God is up to something in my life. I didn't have good family in my life so meeting this christian lady is like a bresth of fresh air. So godly . She came ofervto my dide of the booth and put her arm around me and told me that i need to know that i am a child of the most high God. She spoke the sweetest things to me. Well see each other again soon. God always knows what we need. ❤ I love watching all of you it brings me joy tocsee a normal family.

I loved this video! I have loved Papa Bill and Jane from day one that they were on the show. It’s such a small world the last 2 places my daughter lived was in Belton and Anderson, SC. She actually passed away in Anderson March, 11, 2023. I was down there with her, I live in TN and she had been here with me seeing Drs. Her husband traveled for work and they lived in an RV. She wanted me to take her home to see her husband between Drs appointment and it’s about 4 hour drive from us, so I took her on Monday. I live near Greeneville, TN. She was scheduled for heart testing March 17 and passed àway while we were there with a heart attack at only 37. I wished I had known that they lived that close to her, she had no family there and was having a hard time finding a home church. She was a country loving farm girl. She would’ve been such a blessing to your grandparents and I know that they would have been also. It’s hard to find a KJV Bible believing, God called pastors these days. We were raised very conservative as well. I just love you Erin, I remember the Duggars coming for your wedding and you took some of the girls and showed them your little house. I knew you were special then. You’re a blessing to me and I want to tell you!

You have the sweetest grandparents. I would so love to meet them. My mom's parents were a lot like them but we only saw them in the summer for a week bc they lived in Indiana where my mom was from. She is the youngest with a twin brother out of 17 children. My dad is the oldest of 10 and he was raised in PA. They met in Florida at a nursing home working and then got married in Indiana and lived there for 1 yr then moved to PA and we have lived here ever since. I wish I could've known them much better since they are both gone now. My grandma did come to my wedding in Sept 2003 and then she passed away a few days before Christmas that year. It was very nice to have her there for my wedding though. I also have 2 crocheted blankets she had made for me in my hope chest. God Bless your family

Aww, Erin…. I enjoyed this so much! I feel like I’m sitting on the porch with you and Mama Jane! She’s such a sweetheart! It just makes me remember all the good times with my parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It also brings back memories of my mama spending time with my kids. My mom and my daughter were so close like you are with Jane. I’m almost 67 and so all of those folks have passed. My mom died in 2020 at age 91 and it was especially hard for my daughter.
