Thank you Michael and Doris. This is the most moving discussion I ever heard lately. I’ve ordered a copy of Doris’ book for a soul sister, who like me, was alive and participating in those times. Tissues please. My sis’s mom is Doris (RIL), her dad was a UM professor, she is a UM alum, and she and her mom were both jailed for protesting. I think she’ll like this birthday gift. I don't know about you Michael. I am a Lincoln fan too. I grew up in a working class family and feared the Vietnam War would suck me up. The war influences more than anything other what I think about LBJ. It is only over time that I have come to appreciate The Great Society. I have heard Doris be interviewed many times. You did well.
