Okay I honest to god created an account just to comment on this since I loved it so much and it felt wrong not to say anything lol My super-long list of stuff I loved: 0:19 The calling card representing the scarf 0:25 The playing card handoff at the card table transitioning to Lestat burning a playing card 0:39 That shot is hilariously perfect for the "sweet disposition/wide-eyed gaze" lyric 0:54 The contrast between the two bench scenes you cut together: before when they're happy and then when the three of them are falling apart 😭 1:28 "I remember it all too well" while he's smiling like that, how dare 1:54 I actually forgot about this particular line from the show and it was used very effectively here to hurt me lol 2:00 "nothing else I could do" as the camera focuses in on Louis' face sitting in front of the body 2:12 The three spinning scenes for the lyrics about dancing together 2:42 Lestat opening the car door and hopping out transitioning to Louis closing the front door, symbolism on point 2:46 Them acting like a family and playing the piano together transitioning to Lestat pouring his drink out (more symbolism) 2:56 "till you tore it all up" with the hand running over the cut pages 3:02-:07 The sequence with all the scenes of them just looking at each other in different moments of conflict worked really well 3:11 Claudia and the "break me like a promise" line ouchhh 3:20 I really liked the shots of the book and Louis looking at it with his beat-up face paired with the lyric about being a "crumpled up piece of paper lying here". Since the chapter of that book is titled "Marriage," that plus the shots of Louis' broken physical state seem to say that both their marriage and Louis himself have been crumpled and torn and tossed aside by Lestat's actions 3:24 "all all all" -- each repeated word lines up so well with the three shots of different pairs of touching/clasping hands 3:29-:32 Louis listening to Lestat's record followed by him burning the recording of himself -- I feel like that says something about him and how much he needs to go to therapy lol 3:34 The coffins slowly closing is the perfect way to wind down the video and bring the story to a close Basically, this is art!! Seriously so so good, thank you for making it and inspiring my rambling ❤
