The problem is not God. The problem is that we are born in sin and shappened by it. When God allows afliction, He is usually trying to get our attention. It is possible that we are doing something wrong ; And the Lord requires obedience. If you have children, you are aware that if you see one of them headed down the wrong path. You would certainly intervene. It is no different for God's children. Read : 2 Corinthians 1:5 -10 for encouragement. Paul and Silas believed that their lives were about to come to an end.
