I hope all of the big business here in PH will support our national team. I dont care how long the name is like SM PLDT San Miguel All Home Team Pilipinas. As long as the team is well supported and prepared. Let that team join the PBA and play outside of PH to build that chemistry.

Thanks, Coach Chot for also allowing female coaches to thrive in the Philippine Basketball scene and giving chance for my cousin, Coach Mau Belen to represent not just herself but also aspiring female coaches. You're HIM! 👏🏻💐

I haven’t watch this episode. Pero the things that I can say to CCR (coach Chot Reyes) are his tenacity and his being mission driven. Kahit alam nyang madami syang basher, and focus nya is nasa mission nya na makarating tayo sa world cup (which he first did in 2014) I’m happy seeing him more relax now. CCR, thank you sa serbisyo mo. Isa ako sa naging bashers mo. Pero noon yun. Ngayon, na appriciate ko yung mga nagawa mo. Dob’t get me wrong, pero tama na din na ipaubaya mo sa ibang coach ang Gilas. Sabi nga ni Latrell Sprewell, “sometimes change is good.”

Props to Coach Chot for accepting the role the second time despite knowing the negative publicity he received. Besides Coach Tab, he's the only local coach that can manage the international level. Also remember, he had limited players to pick due to injuries.

Thank You Coach Chot for your Service to the whole National Team Program! And many People tend to forget every time Gilas Plays in any part of the World. Coach Chot makes his Players have a meet and greet after the game with the Filipinos/Kababayans who are at the venue, even during the World Cup in Spain. And that is really a Big Thing for All The Filipinos who are Working or Based on different Countries already.

It takes courage and deep sense of self respect to embrace the results of his own accountabilities and responsibilities specially with the national team of Gilas. We knew from the very beginning that it's not under Coach Chot to make all the needed decisions and adjustments. If he only had his free mind and hands without the dictations and distractions from the basketball godfathers of the SBP. He is tough as nail to take all the blames and the anger of the whole Pinoy Hoop fanatics... Salute to your courage and high sense of self-respect and responsibility!!!

Thank you for having Chot, but this feels more like a FLOWER-GIVING interview rather than a genuine attempt to understand the facts behind the failure of the Gilas Program. Consistently blaming the lack of preparation has become the norm in different interviews Chot has participated in, but no one has truly emphasized that these failures should be attributed to the program's LACK of foresight. The failure to send players to the US to join JC, as well as the China pocket tournament, could have been prevented with proper planning by the SBP. Yet, we continue to solely blame the lack of preparation when, in reality, we did NOT prepare at all.

Some fans' perception of Chot Reyes as headcoach of Gilas in the last few years reminds of a line from the movie "The Dark Knight" (which is the goat of superhero movies in my opinion 😉): "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain." Coach Reyes was the orchestrator in the spotlight the night the Philippines finally beat Korea in 2013, and was viewed a hero for bringing the team back to the World stage in 2014. Ultimately, he became a villain in the eyes of the fans for returning and leading Gilas to a pointless direction.

To be honest Coach Chot is an amazing scout, general manager, life coach, warrior, servant and tactician but having a tweaked version of dribble drive motion offense as your main game play was just outdated any more and there was no ball movement and player movement like cuts and flare screen or back door cuts out there despite not having chemistry, he should have asked his players to move the 🏀⛹🏻‍♂️ and move without the 🏀, just being honest but totally respect and admired him as a person, mentor, leader and his accountability speaks for itself

Now I understand why he’s not really fit for the national coach position. Because he’s really more of a motivational coach. While he’s expertise on relationship building is important, a basketball team primarily needs a basketball coach. If any, he could take the role of a team building coach for gilas. He mentioned about the problem of hiring foreign coaches but then will be met with no players available. Isn’t this a basketball program issue?? Isn’t he the gilas program director?? So where’s that basketball program he was bragging about earlier?🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Mantakin mo nag submit sila sa Asian games committee ng list of 60 players of which 37 lang ang eligible to play?? Panu ba naman kasi e hinaluan ng mga batang players, nba players at Gilas prospects na hindi pa naman naturalized or hindi pa naglalaro sa Pinas. Sinama pa nga nila sa lista yung import ng Jordan which was probably the stupidest thing to do. May balak pang mamirata ng players ng kalaban. Hoped this would be a nice discussion on what could've been done better. But its always about motivation for Chot when that was never the criticism from the many fans who mean well when they say something about Gilas. Its the tactics, the system, the lack of planning and preparation, no plan B no plan C, and the a large portion of the blame fans point to is the SBP itself, not just Chot. And it would've been great if you asked him more about Tab. When he couldn't say Tab is the coach who would be the best choice after Tim for the long term, it only showed he has a personal grudge. Obviously he wants a local coach, Tab IS a local coach he's been here for years! That's why fans do a face palm every time Chot speaks because its always defensive that it is seen to be no more than excuses, even in this long form discussion, he hasn't even pointed to solutions to the obvious problems. In short, hindi drama ang kailangan marinig ng fans, kundi solid, logical, non political, practical solutions from Chot moving forward for the benefit of the national team. Address the real valid arguments, not the senseless bashing.
