This is the most serious Sol has ever been. I was waiting for him to troll JD throughout the first 42 but he finally did at the last minute 😂 after he echoed what Gabe said 😂😂😂

I love your point on continuity, Sol! I'd like to add onto it. What makes countries other (except the USA) hum like a machine despite having 3weeks to 1month of prep is that some of their key guys have spent time together, in varying degrees, in the U15, U17, U19, U21 levels. Just as you touched on, it was evident that Kai and AJ was familiar with each other's game because of the time they spent in the U17 and U19 Gilas teams. Other than Kai and AJ, I think Kiefer is the only U-age group Gilas who got promoted to the seniors Gilas. And he was like 4 or 5 years ahead of the two bigs. Hence, we can see as well that Kief was really familiar with the FIBA game.

love the observations and suggestions from these 3 coz they themselves already played for flag and country. Sol said it best when he said PBA is a physical team and yet we are playing FIBA rules outside that league. I also agree with Gabe that time is the problem now rather than talent in Gilas since we have a whole lot of players now that are great here and abroad. Great great podcast and we're loving it! 💯👏🏀

Solid ep as always. Watching this while working takes the pressure off. I'm with Gabe with this JB vs JC narrative. JB is really not a 100% but I really wished he played as this is his last chance to play with Gilas because of his age. Still, thank you Gilas. On to the next with CTC. Let's claim a Medal this Asiad! Almost 3 decades without a medal and for sure this will be CTC Redemption Tour. Wish JDV was here to help out preparing our National Team. But hey, JD was here! Help them out Kuys. Hahaha.

i have a question Let It Fly team. why the "lack of time" being together should be an excuse for Gilas' lackluster showing in the World Cup? PH won the World Cup hosting in 2017 (if I remember correctly). in that span of time, why is the SBP unable to complete a cohesive line-up? what went in the way?
@VNZ
@VNZ Жыл бұрын
My observation.. our players come from different leagues so availability is a major issue. Injuries as well. Like jc for example only arrived like a week before wc. Time was too short for them to develop chemistry, hence so many iso plays

You want to improve the filipino ball? Do the following list. 1.Get rid of 3 conference and do 1 conference season with 1 import no height limit defending on what team they lacking. 2.Implement a STRICT salary cap you cant stacked your team because its not going to be competitive. 3.Get rid of the fil-am rules instead implement a new rules to fil-ams those who have passport before turning 16 is automatically eligible and those fil-am who doesnt have passport before turning 16 should not be eligible for draft (not trying to be racist but I want everbody in the league to have a chance to play and have no problems for their eligibility in the world. 4.Get rid of farm teams. 5.Get every team a basketball home court instead of playing in a capacity of 20k those empty seats are eyesore. 6.We dont necessarily need to implement 10 mins because 12 mins will get your cardio right. 7.Hire wilfred uytensu to run the PBA he is the only person that dare to say about salary cap.

About Chot, and why would he prepare just 2 weeks? Not confident with the talent available? If only he takes those who are available and prepare for 1 year i think it would be different outcome...

But I think Philippines Basketball is already on the same level as European, it's just that we couldn't Use it to the fullest potential. PH basketball is the same as NBA system and during the Fiba WC finals, Germany didn't use their European system, rather an NBA style. If only there's a Coach that know how the filo ballers play and use this playing style of ours and Improve it to the fullest, I think we will the powerhouse of Asian Basketball. It's not about the League, system, Old System or whatever it's just that we continue to play hero ball rather than an Iso. The Difference between a Hero ball and an Iso is that a Hero ball playing style only rely on one players strength and that's what happened to chot system during WC, but if he try to learn, improve, and add a certain type of style for playing basketball we might be in the Olympics right now. Iso is more on a one on One battle but with the help of Other teammates during the game. Iso type is relying on skills and Players positioning during the game and the one who's doing a one on one must know the location of his teammates inorder to avoid getting crowded. That's why NBA style is still at the top but the only reason they couldn't win the WC is because of relying too much on European style which is they're not familiar with. You can see it during 2019 World cup, 2023 World Cup but during 2020 Olympic they dominate the entire world the only team that manage to beat them is France but during the Finals the European style couldn't Compete on the same level as the NBA style anymore. Meaning Iso ballers is the most deadliest one to guard as once they Pass you they will have multiple options to do as you, his guard that get passed by will look like a nobody... What we need for our NT is to Give them experience playing Abroad inorder for them to learn, Improve, and adapt to any playing style.

Chot must be a good man and a great coach but please, you must understand the hate and frustration filipino basketball fans. the hate was not just coming from the 0-3 result in 1st round of the world cup or the lost to south sudan that made us out of contention to the olympic berth. it's all started as protest when chot and SBP dismantle the well-structured system of coach Tab, but still filipino fans let him coach and supported gilas as always with hope. The frustration came when we lost in indonesia in sea games on May 2022, majority of the fans started to ask his resignation but chot nor the SBP didnt heed to the plead of the peolple then Fiba asia cup came on july 2022 and we finished 9th and lost to japan by 21 points and finished the tournament with 1 win and 3 loses. the frustrations turn into hate and by August 2022 booing started by then, all hell break loose. its been 2 years of frustration.

YUKI KAWAMURA, YUKI TOGASHI, TAKUMI SAITO 3 of the guards you are talking about and the Stephen Curry-like Shooter that wears number 30 is Keisei Tominaga (plays for Nebraska D1 Basketball). And not too many Filipino players can beat them 1 on 1 like y'all been saying the previous episode. Japan is currently better than the Philippines when it comes to Basketball. PERIOD. accept that fact.

Ayoko nang malungkot after sa masamang resulta ng Gilas sa World Cup. Ang USA nga hindi nakapasok sa finals e. After USA's defeat to Germany, Kerr says 'globalized game' becoming more and more difficult for Team USA. ‘This is not [the Dream Team era of 1992,’ says Team USA coach-- so dapat sumama sa "globalization" ang PBA.
