Let Jesus Conquer Your Giants! 1. Consecration (Galatians 2:20) 2. Courage (2 Timothy 1:7) 3. Commemoration (Lamentations 3:21-23) 4. Conquest (Daniel 11:32) Consecration means we are in a fully committed relationship with Jesus Christ. Consecration Trends say: I am the captain of my hip, the master of my destiny, I will live my life my way. Truth says: Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Courage means we trust and obey Jesus in all circumstances. Courage Trends say: If it gets too difficult, just bail out. Truth says: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity but of power and love and discipline. Commemoration means we recount the faithfulness of Jesus in our lives. Commemoration Trends say: Is there still hope for me? I have failed (or people have failed me) too many times. Truth says: Lamentations 3:21-23 21 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. 22 The LORD's loving-kindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Conquest means we take action and give the glory to Jesus. Daniel 11:32 "...but the people who know their God will display strength and take action." Conquest Trends Say: I can do this on my own! OR...I can't do this anymore! Truth Says: Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loves us. JESUS: Conqueror of Sin and Death! 1 Peter 3:18 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
