In late 2023 I was contemplating a pivot to instrumental music and Let Me Go was one of the first ideas I had which is why there are harmony lead guitars running all the way through it. I never intended it to have vocals but one evening in late November 2023 I started humming along and the vocal lines emerged. I didn't think they were anything special and the lyrics, specifically, were throwaway, but the song kept cropping up as I worked on the EP. I eventually redid the vocals - many, many times - and decided to include it on what was originally meant to be just a two track single. Just as an almost throwaway, lighthearted final track.
I wrote the song, sang the words and played all the instruments. The beat was created by ‪@null-o-band‬ for a completely different song which shall remain a secret.
The cover art is based on a photograph by Blue Lemming and the design is based on a template she created in 2020.
