Let's Argue About Clive's Inclusion In Tekken 8

Tekken was heavily changed for the sake of popularity, money, business decisions. I don’t hate Tekken 8 and i’m going to play it as long as they support it unless some miracle happens sega delivers with VF6. Unlike some people who go way overboard, no, its not gonna die, not even close to it, still the second biggest fighting game out there with no close second, that’s just a statistical fact. But sometimes i hate that its doing well, because that just proves Bandai that they are going in the right direction when it comes to bringing in and retainin players. Like, 8.5k daily peaks just on steam is pretty wild for a fighting game after a year. Clive’s trailer is pulling stupid numbers, it almost caught up to other dlc trailers in views just in a day and has more likes than Eddie’s and he was the first who got his trailer. Its going to sell well. Which means i guess is that we just have to accept that we are not the target audience of Tekken anymore. Seems like changing the target audience was necessary for them to do better and its impossible to argue that Tekken 8 is not doing well regardless of things that old players don’t like.

@@RealMikeHollowWell, Clive arguably fits Tekken, especially in its current State where you have Angel Jin and Devil Kazuya flying at light speeds, going into space fighting on meteors and destroying continents. Yes I think Clive fits in.

They worked hard asf on this character, he looks tremendously fun, he deffinitely is a character that I would main, so I would come back to play this in a heartbeat, one peoblem tho.... I'm not finna come back to a game full of forced 50/50 pressure, with almost everything tracking, with a comeback mechanic on top of that (rage), then when I get through all of it against my opponent, they rage quit and I can't get my points back, what's the point of having fun with a guest character of a traditional fighting game if someone just gon rage quit? Lemme be real.

Tekken has lost itself. I'm a Tekken 2 guy so I love 1-4. I adore 4 for its serious tone, from Tekken 5 it started to slip although Jinpachi is cool. Tekken 6 onward it wasn't the same. Rage, meter, supers & giest characters need to stop. Ogre needs to return so Paul Phoenix can kick his ass again for the world to witness eradicating his pathetic Tekken 5 (to modern day) joke version of himself.

I like Rage, Meter, supers & Guest characters. They add more to the game imo. They just need the perfect balance so players can be happy.

@@joshblackwell8632 statistically speaking, there are way more people who like this direction more than previous games. Mike and the others can doom as much as they want, the fact is that Tekken still pulling insane numbers for a fighting game on steam after a year, the numbers started going up after Clive got announced and his trailer views almost surpassed Eddie’s in a day who got it 8 months ago, it already has more likes though. I watched reaction compilations to Clive and the vast majority is hyped as hell, Mike just built a hater community around himself

My friends are hating on me so hard for not liking Clive being included. We will get used to it I guess. I got to the time skip in Final Fantasy and lost interest never finished it I don't know what finishing it will make me like Clive any more.

​​What does that have to do with what the creator said? (I can't think of his name at the moment) there has been numerous occasions where devs have went against the creators wishes and did things on their own basically disrespecting the creator. CD Project Red is a prime example of this with The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and they get the praise and the awards for it, and that's just one of the examples of this, come on now.
