I believe God's plan will be fulfilled no matter what I pray. Why would I want to change God's mind? My prayer changes me. Makes me more sensitive to the needs of others, lean more on God's word and plan, spurs me to charity. Helps me love better, maybe bring God's word to others. Even when I pray for others, it's really me who is helped.

@@SeekingToServeI believe I heard Rabbi Friedman say that he's a kohen, not a Levitical priest. A kohen is a priest, a descendent of Aaron, the first kohen.
@SeekingToServe
@SeekingToServe 11 ай бұрын
@@Y1836Y it's the same thing. :) a kohen is a priest from the tribe of Levi. Aaron was Moses' brother; they were both from the tribe of Levi. The priesthood passed down only from Aaron's lineage within the tribe of Levi. Hence, a Levitic priest refers to the Kohanim. The other Levites were not priests.

Unanswered prayer is often with us. I remind myself, that my genuine prayer is my acknowledging HaShem's sovereignty. I might ask for what I hope for, but He has His divine sovereignty to respond how He chooses. Sometimes prayer does feel unanswered, but I know He always hears and desires genuine prayer.

I believe you're right about the other part that nothing changes a soul doesn't die it moves to another place with the same thoughts and fears it has on earth. The good news is if you truly know God you won't feel abandoned at that point in time but a sense of divine relief. That's just my feelings about that subject. Who on earth really knows?

Take it from me as someone who has prayed for good and bad things to happen and they did, praying works. I won’t go into detail about the bad stuff I prayed for as that private but here’s the good. 1. Prayed for a girlfriend right before I started college ✔️ 2. Prayed for a specific movie to come out for a friend who got out of the hospital ✔️ 3. Prayed to find money ✔️ 4. Prayed to get out of a really bad situation ✔️ 5. Prayed to see a pug ✔️ 6. Prayed to go to Japan ✔️ 7. Prayed for certain family members to recover ✔️ 8. Prayed for a sequel/prequel to my fav movie ✔️ 9. Prayed to win a Lego Set in boy scouts ✔️ 10. Prayed for my mom to make my fav dish ✔️ 11. Prayed for my fav show to comeback with more episodes ✔️ 12. Prayed for Krispie Kreme to have my fav donuts ✔️ 13. Prayed to win dodgeball game ✔️ 14. Prayed to pass various important tests ✔️ 15. Prayed that I’d find my wallet ✔️ What I’m getting at is, praying works. He’s listening people. I’ve seen him create miracles in my life that I hadn’t even mentioned that were WAAAAAAAAAY too accurate for it to be a coincidence. Pray, believe in your prayer, and strive to make good decisions with your prayers because not only do we serve an awesome God, we serve one who believes in “be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it”

Because that is exactly what young children would naturally think: "Why don't we all go there???" @@Y1836Y I was commenting about how Manis insinuated we non Jewish get taught that we become angels when we go to heaven . And my comment stands he wouldn't know a thing about Christianity other than to pretend he does , pretend priests cry to him and all that kind of garbage he's making up as he goes

Thank you very much, Rabbi Friedman. I have a question about what you said about the soul being the person's personality. I thought that the personality is a part of the person's externality and that the soul is their internal essence that we can't sense. My mother has dementia and her personality is no longer recognisable as how we remember her. But B"H she still has a soul

NO - it would be unfair that some are answering and others not - this is pre-determined script, we are on this stage, we passed the audition , so now we play our assigned role and that is that - will you be a notable actor or disappoint ….. !
