I like the running freeform commentary. Learned a lot from this one. Especially about acrylics. You're like the Bob Ross of model car building, just more upbeat. :-) FYI: I owned a Black on black '96 Nissan 300ZX Turbo with the Steve Millen (Stillen) engine power upgrades. That thing could get up and GO, GO, GO. Bought it new out in San Diego when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Quickest, best-performing car I ever owned in the 1990s. Eventually sold it with super low miles to a Miami auto dealer who sent a car carrier to come get it. He was ecstatic. Probably sold it to some drug lord LOL!.

Thank you so much, I really should do more 1/24 scale builds on my channel, I have plenty of kits! I’m glad that you enjoyed the show! I have a lot of fun making these. And wow! I always wanted one that’s bad arse! Thank you so much for your service, my father was NAVY. If I would have know it was for sale I might have traveled to the west coast to pick it up! My first car was going to be a twin turbo model but when I got to the dealership three states away it was sold, I settled on an 88 LX Mustang convertible which was fun but I always wanted a Z. I might go for a more recent 270 model though. Thank you for watching and you compliment! Stay tuned for more 1/24 goodness.

The only brakes i have ever changed where i didnt have to remove the brake caliper. U just unclip the pads put in new ones, reclip the pads in place, and put wheel back on, u might be able to just turn the wheel all the way one direction and change them that way probably. Hi. I know this was posted a few years ago, but I am just trying to build one now. Can you tell me what size tip is that you used for the trim lines and are they acrylic or oil based? Thanks
@TheMiniaturesPaintbrush4 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the panel lines for the exterior. If so I used a .005 micron pen, which is an ink. I also have used Tamyia panel liner, as well as oil pin washing with similar effects.gloss varnish before applying the last two goes a long way to keeping the ink or paint in the recesses.

One more question if you don’t mind. I watched your video because I am building that exact same model. I am total newbie at this. Only my third car build. I am very impressed with the Tamiya model. The fit of pieces is so much better compared to the other two I built. They were older Revell models. Mustang and Shelby Cobra. Trying to fit some parts was a tearing out my hair experience. I have recently come to realize that the older models weren’t built as well, and even the companies that reissue them (Round 2?) use the same older molds. Is that your experience? Would you recommend that I stick to Tamiya brand as a beginner to avoid the frustration and are there other brands that use newer molds. Sorry if this is a run on paragraph but can’t see anyway to put paragraph breaks in. lol On my Ipad. Thanks again.

34:00 I have a question here, so first thing you do is paint the lights (red, orange and white / silver), you let it dry and then you paint the whole thing (without masking the lights)? Thanks!
@TheMiniaturesPaintbrush4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, on to your question! My process with painting the light clusters includes: * paint the body completely first * make a decision whether to paint the reverse side of the lights or the actual body of the car. The benefit in painting the reverse side of the glass for the light clusters is that you get really clean lines. At times they lack depth. As for painting the body, this adds depth to your light clusters, it can however be tricky, a steady hand is needed for sure. I hope this helps!

yo, mate … realize you've put a lot of attention and patience into your creation. mind if i point out one very small issue? take a close look at the rear of the automobile … the rear parking light assembly … between the reverse lights … notice the decal for 300zx … the "z" is backward. best wishes … 1:00:44 .

@TheMiniaturesPaintbrush4 жыл бұрын
You are correct with your complaint! I was hoping to tint the windows but It came out a lot darker than I intended, this was my mistake, I should have diluted the smoke so that it would not end up so dark. It was the first time trying to tint the windows. I learned for the next time. Thank you for complementing my interior, I'm glad that you like it! Thank you also for commenting, I know you are complaining but that's not a bad thing, I lean when people complain, and when I learn, I become better at painting, so thank you!
