I can say that I agree with you in regards to cosmetology school. I graduated and am a licensed advanced cosmetology in Ohio but I'm working full time at a local college because like you said my school was a money grab. I learned nothing in regards to black hair except silk pressing it ( all my knowledge came from being self taught n youtube) . Im not passionate about doing hair but I still keep up my licenses because I can always fall on that if I need. I worked in a shop but everyone wanted weaves , since I specialize in natural hair I decided to stop doing hair because where I live natural hair still is not a thing(but people love my hair, just to lazy to put work in smh)

This is my issue now..like I literally lost my passion for it. So studying is becoming a chore. I was so excited, and I’m looking at myself wondering if I wasted my time. I’m hoping I can find that fire for it. Disappointed
