I’ve been watching you for a little bit, couple months I guess, and I realized this morning when you uploaded that I don’t know that much about you and hadn’t yet watched your Q&A video. While watching you said something that really stood out to me... “they’re not mine, but they are mine”, that’s exactly how I feel about my “stepdaughter” Haley who is 17 next month. Her dad and I have been together since she was 3, and we have had full custody of her since she was 6. It’s one of those awful birth mom ordeals so to her I am her mother. Hubby and I have 2 children together but I always tell Haley “I loved you first”. Anyway, I liked how you said that, and as hard as it can be to be a step parent at times, BEING A GOOD ONE, is something to be applauded for 👏🏼☺️

I give you a lot of credit all of the pain and surgeries you’re going through!! Be careful with blood clots that’s scary, I’m 43 I’ve got fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and arthritis everywhere along with tmj which affects my speech sometimes people think I’ve had a stroke or something. I love hearing you talk about your family. It's obvious how much you love your husband and kiddos. I think it would be a super cute video to see you do a get ready with your daughter. It's so important at that age to keep that close connection and she would most certainly feel special if you included her in a video. I'm sorry to hear about your health struggles. I have psoriatic arthritis and chronic headaches and am currently out on FMLA from my job too. It is difficult not to go stir crazy. My kids are grown so it's just me and the dogs on most days. That was really cute! I love getting to know more about the influencers I enjoy watching. I really related to what you said about your kids. My husband and I have only been married almost two years, but we were best friends for 3 years before we started dating. We actually met on Plenty of Fish when he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay in the Army. But that’s a whole other story. Lol 😂 Anywho. My son (technically my stepson) was 5 when I met him. I haven’t been a stay at home mom and raised him 24/7 but I still have been in his life for more than half of it. He’s 12 now. I have a 15 year old daughter and 13 year old son from my previous marriage, and I had to have a hysterectomy at age 26, so my husband and I have no biological children of our own. But I call Keaton my son and love him just like I do my bio kids. My daughter doesn’t have a relationship with her bio dad, and she refers to my husband as dad. One thing that’s cute/funny is that my husband and I mostly got married because our kids asked us to. ❤️ They planned out our “wedding” and presented their idea to us. It was not at all practical, but it was the cutest thing ever. I think it meant the most to my daughter and son Keaton because they craved stability. Keaton’s bio mom has a revolving door of men in her AND Keaton’s lives. I feel like Keaton needed to know I wasn’t going anywhere and he didn’t understand why his dad and I weren’t married even though we’d been together for years and his mom married a man she’d been dating for about 12 minuets (ok so I might be exaggerating a wee bit!). Annnnnnywho The point of this novel I’ve written is that you don’t have to give birth to someone for them to be your child. A parent is the person who loves, supports and takes care of their children, even if they didn’t incubate them for 9 months. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💗

He's 8 and he loves his mama ❤️ I love your philosophy on doing makeup- I totally know what you mean about seeing people getting their makeup done and they look like a carbon copy of the artist. I agree about the tattoos. I'm 53 and got my second one about a year ago. I work in a law firm and I do stand out though both tattoos are very tame. I'm jealous of those who don't need to worry about their profession and can express themselves.

I’ve been waiting for an updated one of these from you! Cool 👍🏻 Oh and just so you know, girl I understand about the health problems. I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia which (since it was never caught as a baby) led to SERIOUS osteoarthritis all through pretty much my hips to my toes (my legs and knees and ankle problems don’t originate from the hip problems, they’re just a lucky bonus 🙄) I had my first hip surgery at 15 and ended up having 3 surgeries on only my right hip by the time I was 17. Long story short I am now 34 and have had 7 surgeries in total. I’m also going to have to get BOTH my hips replaced at least 2 times (per hip) in the future. I look like a kid but in the inside I have so many health problems it’s ridiculous. That’s a whole long story though lol but I understand how daunting it can be to be so “young” and have all these issues. We can do it though! Your still slayin hun! ❤️

I'm also hypermobile and have chronic knee problems because of it. It's the worst! Did physical therapy for 3 years and it's mostly managed (still painful, but not as much). Have you tried physical therapy?

+Ilina Sandler I have had 6 knee surgeries on my right knee, 7 surgeries on my left... I have had more physical therapy than I care to admit lol... but usually, the things that happen with my joints have to be repaired with surgery. I typically tear or break something.

I would get shy and nervous and never comment or ask things, and now I feel like I don’t shut up 🤦🏼‍♀️.. bottom line your my FAV you-tuber and your opinion is gold to me.. I’m late to watching this but I think the term you were looking for was hypermobile. (Sorry if a bunch of people already chimed in with this!) I have it too. It makes you quite flexible but much more prone to injury. Hope you’re healing well!

I understand how you feel about work. I worked in retail for different brands. It was okay with the department store to sell other products, but it wasn't okay with the brands I worked for. I would do it anyway and suggest other brands. There's too much drama there though and I decided to quit and freelance. I was a hair away from applying at Nordstroms but I was afraid of it being like everywhere else I've worked.

Dunno how I missed this but we are kindred spirits! I have hypermobile joints too! I can pop my hips out. I used to do it as a party trick when I was young. Not cool since now I'm paying for that bullshit. I did get diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis but I don't think the hypermobility is related. Do you have to have time when you get up in the morning for your joints to loosen up and not feel stiff and painful? I'm doing that now and it pisses my husband off that I can't just get up and hop in the shower. Anyhow, love these videos even if I'm super late. Love you! xoxo ❤

What a lovely personality you have. My husband took on 3 children that was 3,7 and 9 that was 9 years ago we have none together but he is a true father. I never have luck with my health but you have to keep going. I had a emergency hysterectomy as a result of bad surgery and ended up in intensive care, carpal tunnel surgery that needed up damaging my tendons and every medication I have for my carpal tunnel and fibromyalgia I react to I m always the one in 10000 that has the reaction. I wish you well and a speedy recovery but having a lovely family gets you through everything in life. Wish you were in uk I would love you to style me. Take care xxxx

Samantha Sawyers I have chronic pain and understand how it affects everything in your life, including your family. I also had a medically necessary hysterectomy at a young age (26). My husband and I have no biological children together, but I consider his 12 year old son to be mine. I’ve been in his life since he was 5 years old. My husband is the only dad in my daughter’s life, and I’m so grateful she has him as a positive male influence since she has no relationship with her bio dad. I’m sorry to hear you deal with so many health issues and complications with your meds. I hope eventually you find meds that work well without all the side effects. ❤️

Omg Mel! I just now watched this vid! I heard you say that you have a sensory disorder in your latest vid & also that you had talked about it in one of these vids... Anyway I was curious because 2 of 3 of my bio sons have sensory disorders- 'Auditory Processing Disorder'. Its like being dyslexic in your ears- is the easiest way to describe it- but its much more complicated.. I just paused this one after you talked about your kids. I totally relate!! I have 5 kids & I did not give birth to all 5. 3 are biologically from me & 2 are my Bonus Kids. They are: 19, 17 1/2, & three 16's. B4 I met my hubby- who also happens to be a biker (Ca M/C)- 12 yrs ago I was a single mom & yes I did have 3 in diapers & 2 on the boob at once!! The more I 'get to know you' - the more I L&R you 🌸💞.
