I've been looking at these Eafengrow Knives and while I like them they are too clunky, in my opinion. Think I'll order EF963 and see, in hand because the fit for one person is different for everyone, but thank you I appreciate you honest personal review guide. Hope it is not too big.

I'm digging the EF line up. I'm thinking the 3rd one you showed looks like the WE knife by Elijah Isham. I got a sticker of it in a WE/Civivi swag pack. I don't recall the name. That designer had a restraining order against him in Colorado & then fired a gun a police who eventually shot him. Anyway, that 3rd EF knife may be one of the clones.
@thehotwheelshunter
@thehotwheelshunter Жыл бұрын
It definitely is and a very different knife I heard of the designer and what happened to him crazy I guess he was trying to commit suicide in his car when that all went down only 27 said didn't know what he had
@TheBootyWrangler
@TheBootyWrangler Жыл бұрын
Elijah never fired a gun at police, that must be a roomer that you have heard. The restraining order was unrelated and his death is considered suicide by police. He was (potentially intoxicated; this fact I do not remember) driving his car and crashed it on the side of the road. Flipped it upside down. When police arrived to get him out of the car he brandished what they believed to be a firearm and initiated a 3 hour standoff. Police made the call to shoot him because of the intensity of his threats etc and they took the shot. Turns out that he had a Dillinger on him, not even a real pistol. And I don’t think it had a shot loaded but it may have. You can read about his death by googling his name and doing some digging through articles.

I carry and use a pocket knife every single day at my job, and no not for opening mail and cutting tape on packages at some office job like a lot of guys I know. I beat the crap out of my knives, and 'm all about budget knives. However, like many people I fell into the trap of buying a $25-$30 beater knife because you think 'hey its only $30'. Then a few weeks to month later you see another cool $35 knife, and then a cool $27 knife, and a killer deal on a $19 knife. I have Ganzos, Sanrenmus, Kizers, Civivis, TwoSuns, cheap Kershaws, Bokers, Cold Steels, even a few para clones. I've used knives with blade steels ranging from 440A, 440C, chinese D2, various chinese XcrYmov, mystery Chinesium, S30V, S35VN, 154cm, 14c28n, 12c27, and 52100. And before I knew it I had 20 budget knives, when I could have just spent $300 on a killer knife. Then I happened upon got a super deal on a Spyderco Shaman exclusive with CTS-204P steel (which is basically equivalent to Bohler M390). And let me tell you, from the build quality to the feel of the G10 to the blade performance there is absolutely no comparison. Every day when leaving the house I used to grab a different knife, but now I grab the Shaman every single time. Instead of rolling or chipping or dulling the blade every few days and having to constantly sharpen my cheap budget knives, I haven't even had to sharpen the 204P once yet. If people are into buying knives to collect or don't want to feel bad using their knives as a screwdriver, or they lose pocket knives all the time, then to each their own. But at least for me, I've seen the light and I'd much rather have 1-2 incredibly functional high end knives vs a giant collection of 100 budget knives.

I can definitely see your point but I have a large collection of 200 300 and 400 dollar knives and I love to collect them to I just can't stop picking up knives lol I definitely liked your insight and think it's very useful info for a lot of people thanks for taking the time to comment

I’m in a different boat where I started out on ti framelocks with vg-10 made in Japan and m390 kizers etc. then tried out these cheapo knives (I have gotten very lucky with the knives I have purchased) and turns out I really really like them. They’re still killer quality for the price and I feel good doing dangerous (to the knife) shit with them at work. And using them in conditions that are just overall likely to damage any knife of an edc size over time. Although I do often carry my kizer deviant at work and it has held up extremely well over the year I’ve owned it (their treat on the m390 is amazing on this knife, when I bought it I slammed the edge on my truck bed by accident and it still shaved hair after) I still feel like I often baby it over my cheaper beater knives.

The ef967 was my very first “cheap” knife from Amazon and I really think it may have spoiled my views on this in the cheap knives favor. My second was the Sitivien st-128 which is an upgraded version of a famous old clone of discontinued boker knife. So yes I’ve gotten a bit lucky with this

Do you keep all your knives or are these gifts to relatives? These are good knives and i agree this could be fakes. I finally spent the money on a Benchmade wow very nice. I live in Oregon so it will be easy to take in if needed. I think they have been doing that to some crimson trace pistol lights they could be clones.

D2 as with all steels is fully dependent on the HT protocol. Poorly don't m390 won't out perform well done 8cr. The steel is a of the performance equation only if the ht protocol is optimal for that steel. I have tested multiple EF knives in D2 and they all fall right in the middle of all the other D2 I have tested. Edge retention is consistently about 15% more then well done 8cr and right in line with 9cr. D2 is NOT the best budget steel, custom HT d2 yes can be a world class preforming steel but these cheap China d2 knives will never preform with 14c28n, NitroV, vg10, aus10, 10cr, aebl and many more even if they are just decently done any of those mid tier steels I just listed will beat out decently done D2 in pretty much every performance facet.

It's definitely a tool but is definitely something people can appreciate they different blad steels and designs to make people want to collect them and not always pry something open with or take out a screw with (not what they're for either) but I do have knives all do it with in a pinch lol But I think these knife reviewers are targeting other collectors and not the guy who might abuse knives but there are channels that do that thanks for watching man hope you find what your looking for

With the helpful contents of all those knife channels, we are able to get a detailed review about the zillions of different knife models from all over the world. I prefer to buy a proper knife from China with fair price and good build quality. I don't need spend my hardly earned money on overpriced junk from USA or Europe. What are the pros and cons? Worth it or totally worthless etc. Before the purchase some of those knives, it is pretty crucial to get honest and objective reviews. This is a good thing. ✌️

I've never understood person's like yourself, to begrudge someone a simple hobby. As long as no one is harmed and we can appreciate craftsmanship as well as fine engineering and the like, what harm have we done? Especially to you. Hobbies are good and resourceful outlets for tension and good for focus. I really mean you no harm but you sound like a very foolish and unhappy person.
