This is a nifty little device. I have seen these little CO2 cartridge based emergency tire inflators and thought they were a must for any serious cyclist. The trouble with them is that they don't give you a full inflation. So even if you have installed a brand new tire you're still in limp home mode. This little device will take you up to 150psi which is plenty even for most typical racing bike tires, which is the highest pressure situation most people are going to see on a regular basis. Even if the battery is dead you can power or recharge this unit with a typical USB power Bank. If you have a 12v car cigarette lighter adaptor and a long enough cable you're good to go, although it's probably better to just keep it charged and ready before you go on that road trip.
I would keep the silicone sleeve on this at all times as it tends to get hot when in use for several minutes. It's very easy to use and if I was still into cycling it would be in my kit for every ride.

I could have used this thing in my mountain biking days. Nothing worse than a flat in the middle of a forest and having to pump up the spare tire with one of those tiny little emergency hand pumps!
