I loved Jingles from the beginning. He had great humor, was not afraid to call an asshole player a "cock holster", and he understood the real history. Also - how can you not love someone who arranges for two teams of TOGs to have it out just for the sheer fun of it? He and you are two WOTers that I listened to from my time of first hearing you. There are others, but you and Jingles are my main ones.

My favourite Jingles videos were the ones with his TOG platoons and his review of the "new" IS-6. He just drove that IS-6 into a nest of enemy tanks and took dozens of hits while killing them. It was considered over powered then.

Had a similar experience as the last game on Redshire with my Tier 6 Chinese TD. As my team melted I hit the rear trees behind the cap and waited for the Muppets to continue to assault me in 1's and 2's where I was shooting undetected, dodging a persistent arty, while my team was yelling at me to do something. 9 kills later I won.

Jingles brought me into that game. I watched his videos for half a year before I started. And then there was this video from Bovington where this fuzzy dude sits on a tanks and shoos away Jingles. Who was that? "Why are you so mean, Claus?" Well, and now I am here for six years.

That was a perfectly well described way to put it, I think the most frustrating when you do get to intermediate is that because you don't have a lot of carry strength yet. You really realize how much you are dependent on the RNG of what the game gives you for teammates. It leaves one feeling powerless despite driving around in tanks. When as soon as the enemy team has one or two competent players more than yours. You can only watch as your team melts away, knowing what should be done, but not managing to pull it off while better players do it. Also, that and the feeling of driving around in your tech tree, half stock tanks with a 90 something crew, facing people with six crew skills, better equipment, that don't mind splurging credits for the gold rounds, consumable and directive. Wondering why their tank are so much better than yours~

That second enemy team is all too common: the enemies establish a big lead, but in so doing, lose all their better players. The remaining enemy team have a huge advantage, but they’re so shite they squander it horribly. Happens all the time

Where is Bob? You are absolutely right with the player phases. I have quit playing the game realizing I am not as good as I wished and didn't want to sink all my time to grind being substantially better. It was not worth it. Now I play games which I actually enjoy. Frustration is not the right thing to feel all the time playing a video game. Still, for some reason, I consider WoT attractive to watch.

Hey Claus - Jingles was my first KZbin mentor as well, and I spent many hours with his stories -much more involved than yours - his cat, and his girlfriend. And I liked the fact he also previewed games other than WoT, just to keep things from getting stale. But as the years have passed I've settled into what I believe is the best trifecta - you, Skil, and Dez!

This is why early into my WoT career I learned that I get the most enjoyment and success out of playing mid-tier light tanks and so I just stick to playing those and have purple stats and equipment on those. Now I can just log onto the game and play how I please while carrying my team when the map rotation and matchmaking allows.

I see a change in WOTs. All three of his crewmen died, yet he continued to play. Used to be, if all the crew died, no one could activate the first aid kit. I was confused, first time all my crew died, ‘I’ve got hit points! I’m not dead. How come I can’t do anything?

Another thing with respect to Jingles, which I think applies to a lot of people including myself, this game is really up to WoT IV. Its all World of Tanks but the game from 2012 is not the same game as today. The changes over the years is something you would normally see when a new version comes out. I remember when I first started playing and was in a tier 4 tank really quickly and was shooting at a KV-1 or a Churchill and I thought this was the most over powered impossible thing to do damage to. People in chat were talking about aiming for the drivers hatch. Aim for the drivers hatch? It just a tank in front of me. Oh then I discovered you could enter into the gunners scope view to better target by pressing the shift key. That was after playing the game for only a few times at that point. There was no tutorial. You signed up and had all these tier 1 tanks but you could get into a tier 4 really fast. And you barely had to aim to pen anyone. But since then you have the physics change. Then controls changed like being able to do crazy braking turns with light tanks to change direction. The changes to crew systems has been a constant and back in the day it really did appear that concealment did almost nothing. No once understood concealment. I don't even think bushes worked like they do now. They weren't modeled, they were their for beauty. Playing with low graphics settings was better since it was easier to aim at weak points. Just my opinion. Take it as you will.

in order to "not suck" and become a Unicum, you also HAVE to invest a lot of money into the game. There's no Unicum who doesn't use Gold Ammo, Premium accounts, top crews, to equipment, and all the rest of the things that help

I think the Rhm was mostly about having CVS, you know this broken equiment which decreases camo of other tanks instead of improving the tank's characteristics. It doesn't matter if the T100lt has good camo and view range, if the Rhm can decrease its camo by up to 12.5% when its moving or 20% when behind a bush, it will effortlessly outspot it...

I seldom get enemy teams that let me engage them one at a time like that. The match making enemies I get would stay completely out of my view range until a proximity spot all three of them at the same time coming at me from both directions at once. I can tell you that the chances that the Skorpion G was in teh same position are 0.0000!% because at 20:14 he killed the Borsig. To do that from 1100 meters away is really not possible, so there you go.

When I started playing, I didn't understand the mechanics; spotting, view range etc; and I was frustrated. I quit because I understood the mechanics; Russian number generator, sigma, cloak of dispersion, pre-destined MM; and I was even more frustrated!

Why don't I ever get muppets like that? I mean, I get them on my team, but not as enemies. I'm not a particularly good player, but I know the fundamentals. It seems that while I'm trying to use those fundamentals my team rushes forward and dies, and I end getting surrounded.
