I was always thrilled to find this game in the arcade.

The 7800 indie release is the best home version. The 2600 impressed me the most, mostly due to its hardware and the lingering bad memories of Pac-Man '82. Overall, a good videogame, but one that was clearly aimed at expert players and was far too difficult for most people. That said, I do wish Namco would get off their lazy butts and revive Junior. He's better than Baby, Plus or Professor Pac.

Fun fact: Jr Pac-Man was originally going to be on the Super Pac-Man Collection plug and play by Jakks Pacific. While the game isn't included, the Retro Arcade Featuring Pac-Man by the same company has a sound test that includes Ms. Pac-Man and Jr Pac-Man.

The MS DOS version, JR pac man is faster than the ghosts. and the color changes everytime yoju pass the level. and ghosts are moving when he eats a ghosts. power pellets can make a weird sound when ghosts are near the power pellet while JR pac man is being close as well and you die. so glitchy.

Wow, that 7800 homebrew really shows the passion for this console and the Pac-Fam along with the port of Baby Pacman earlier this year. That dos one though, my lord I expected better from that one and it was worse then most of the others.

The Ataru 2600 version is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It holds it own like a champ, even when you put it up against the arcade version and the Atari 800 conversion:D

I was very disappointed when I found out that this was an unauthorized game by Bally Midway, which caused NAMCO to terminate licensing agreement with Bally Midway. Ms. PacMan was also unauthorized by Bally Midway, but Bally Midway made a licensing deal with NAMCO, which made Ms.PacMan authorized game. However, Jr. PacMan is a very fun game, and I enjoy playing it whenever I get a chance.

I was playing the 7800 version, and I couldn't even complete the first maze! It's that hard. Then again, I was always better at Pac-Man games with the Speed Chip. Ironically, some say it's harder WITH the speed chip than without. Much more manic, tense, and suspenseful with it.

I owned and was amazed at how good the 2600 was. I also owned Ms Pacman for 8-bit, the Jr Pacman version in this video for the Atari 8bit and 5200 were both made from the same engine of the Ms Pacman with changed graphics, sadly they kept the same sounds and ghost graphics, makes you think that you were actually getting Ms Pacman2 instead. Not that there is such a thing. But Jr P all in all is a very fun and challenging game, Yes very under-rated.

Results Atari 2600: maze scrolls the wrong way, but pretty good port DOS: I like that the maze doesn’t scroll and the graphics are nice, but the colors and gameplay are awful C64: really good, maze is all on 1 screen Atari 5200 And 800: really nice Atari 7800 : we have a winner!

This game was always a bad idea. It's a miracle if you made it through Level 1 without losing a life. Not enough power pellets for a maze that size. I'm referring to the Arcade platform.

Jr. Pac-Man wasn't on the namco museums for the PS1. The version hidden on the genesis version wasn't Pac-Man Jr. & was based on the original. Wasn't the same game.

The 2600 was all people had for a long time, even when the Intellivision and Colecovision showed up the 2600 was way easier to find and get games for, and after the crash the other two disappeared but Atari stuck around.

I'd put the 2600 version much higher. The speed and scrolling are what the game is about. Graphics aren't everything.

+Gaming History Source You're using a keyboard for a controller, right? Seems that way from the missed turns and misdirection's. I've had the same experience with attempting to play any maze type game with the keyboard. D-pads suck for them too. There's no replacing a joystick. The Stelladaptor from AtariAge is a must have to play a lost of classic games through emulation.
