Poor Cora, this is the beginning of Cora's villain origin story...rejected, alone and fighting for her life out in the wilderness... she joins a pack of bandits becoming Killer Cora as she seeks her revenge on all travelers who find their way down the Oregon Trail. Kills me when you leave pelts and meat over the wayfinding book and hymns book. They don’t do anything in your inventory until you use them 🫣. Using the wayfinding books help you collect the berries and find oxen, etc when lost. You can buy multiple books to make a character better at it if you assign it to them just like the clothes. They are permanent boosts to the characters and don't wear out.

It's hard to call it "permanent" when literally any random event can lower skill points.

At campsites, if your characters tell stories you then get to learn what some of their hidden traits and skills are.

But you also don't get to have them regain any stamina if they stay up all night talking.

I think it would have been very worth trying to seal the wagon at Snake River. If you couldn't seal it at all the button would be greyed out, the "0/12" more likely means that you're currently using zero out of a max of 12 pelts because if I remember right there were about three pelts in the wagon at that point that they grabbed for a quest. You can always move things around in the wagon to use the space better too. There was a whole stretch of the video where three squares of a bag of flour was exposed to the weather which could have been avoided.

I grew up playing the original in elementary school so the fact that this is on steam makes me so happy...fun fact there is a non fiction book about someone who travels the original Oregon trail in modern day which is really cool... would you like the title and author to check it out?
