Here is a time lapse of my latest painting, "Let's Dance Again". I have also gone in and added commentary throughout the video, describing the things I'm doing to the painting.

The warmth and colour draw you in to your paintings. I love the feeling of peace they give to me.

Wow, Tim, I know this was a long time ago, but I just recently came across you after first watching a (I think recent) interview Brooke Cormier had with a KZbinr, which led me to watching Brooke, which led me to your mentorship videos, and now to your painting. That is such a great idea to put a layer of oil on the canvas after the underpainting before adding the oil colours. It was absolutely fascinating to see this move from a totally red background, to the addition of some leaves, to some streaks of sky, to a whole upper sky background! It's like magic to watch in time lapse! I'm quite new to art and oil painting, but I really love it, and this is inspiring. Thank you.

You are an incredible artist. The colours are beautiful, but I am particularly drawn to the birch trees. Really inspiring, subscribed! :)

Wow!! Such an informative video, imagine if you could paint this 2 week painting in just a 10 minute setting. the beauty of a time lapse, if we recorded Michael Angelo we could probably see him complete the Sistine Chapel within a month. I loved seeing the process, it clearly takes alot of practice to use colour that confidently. Amazing work!

You rarely actually paint....just the endless talking, so this is a LOT more help. Why visual artists seem to talk, TALK, talk instead of PAINTING is a mystery, guess they are lonely. This guy seems to NEVER SHUT UP.

That's very similar to my process , but I usually paint 24 x 36 and sometimes I start blue , yellow , red , etc , it's really more about relaxing , therapy and less about sales , thanks , ur art is great

My Pleasure... we all have to decide why we paint... for me I want to be able to do it every day... the only way to do that is if I can make a living at it... so for me sales are definitely a part of it :)

Hi Tim. Just discovered your work. Fantastic. I have a question. When you are resolving your birch trees, do you paint in the dark bark spots or are they left from the dark underpants when you paint in the lighter purples? thanks
@timpackerfinearts4 жыл бұрын
Raymond Paradiso hi Raymond😊 I paint the scars on the birch with oils... usually a mix of Prussian blue and Alizarin Crimson

You paint in between the painted branches? Just wondering why not paint the trees over the already painted sky?
@timpackerfinearts7 жыл бұрын
Hi Carrie ... that process is called negative shape painting... It gives a very different look to the finished painting than if I were to paint the sky first and then the branches. I happen to really like that look which is why I do it. One thing to always keep in mind is that if you paint like everyone else... your paintings will look like everyone else's paintings.
