I don't understand why Infinte Painter is not more talked about, there are 100 times more videos about Procreate. Maybe it's because Apple helps push Procreate. I noticed you clicked to open the size panel, you can also just click and drag on the buttons to change the size and opacity.

Woooahh, that's super helpful Kim, thank you! Also I totally agree with you, it's insane to think that something as good as Infinite Painter is being "slept on", but ProCreate is definitely the advertising/market leader on iOS from the looks of things. While I have enjoyed my time learning ProCreate, I'm hoping more people try out Infinite Painter, it's a beast!

@@ArtOfWesGardner I'm definitely trying it out. In fact on PC via Bluestacks 5 touch wood seems to work fine atm. PS But no finger gestures as not touch screen.

I agree with you on procreate. It feels too predictable and like photo shop…I don’t really have fun using it. But infinite painter is amazing. With so many different tip/brush options that actually feel different from one another, I feel like I’m making a real painting. Whenever I use the smudge tool I use my finger because that’s what I would do if it was a real piece of paper, so I changed the tip size to match my finger so it feels most realistic. I still have lots to learn with the app and a long way to go, I’ve only been using it about a week. Decent video, great artwork. Listened to you talk as I played around on infinite.

This Infinite Painter app has great potential to surpass some of the more well-known apps like Clip Studio, Sketchbook, Corel Painter, and Krita but not Photoshop and Procreate. Apple pumped so much support into Procreate w/iPad Pro to keep Procreate the king of mobile graphics apps. Photoshop is simply premium/ gold standard.

Your mountains are always impeccable. I'm always happy to see them! Also, I first really tried Infinite Painter like a week ago, and bro, I got the same feeling as you did. Those brushes feel magical. I feel like in Procreate, I know too much of what to expect from each brush. Infinite Painter's make me go wow 👌 Definitely more natural

It's just so smooth! And I love painting mountains because you can always make some random brush strokes and it seems to add to the overall feel, instead of detracting!

in procreate's defense I have to say is all about brushes what you said it doesn't feel as painterly at first it depends of the brushes sets you have. Now you can import photoshop brushes and it has better customization. I know where you are coming from because that was something I was looking for but now that you have a lot of options in looking and adding for brushes I have to say procreate is a very powerful drawing app. I personally don't use the brushes that procreate comes with. Having said that i haven't tried infinite painter but I feel I needed to mention that you can definitely get painterly artworks with procreate it's a matter of getting the right brushes or making some adjustments what I feel procreate wins over other drawing apps it's their interface it's very user friendly and pretty intuitive and isn't as buggy as other apps.

Absolutely! So on this exact topic, I recently downloaded the MaxPacks Oil Brush pack for Procreate, and it is INCREDIBLE. It has quite a bit of a learning curve, but it has improved my Procreate ability by like, 1000% haha. The brushes definitely make a difference on the "feel" of Procreate, and it's able to do the nice, silky blends that I've loved about Infinite Painter! Excited to dig more into Procreate in 2024!

Hello sir! new subscriber... thank you for reviewing Infinite painter1 I'm an Android user, I have samsung tablet, and this app is my only go-to app for art... and I always advocate it... I wish I'm a better artist on KZbin so I can be a better supoter to the app's programer! :) I wish more artists talk about this app and recommend it... May I ask you to take one of your painting and finish it on this app likeyou do on your desktop software(s)? if you please? maybe, then, you can blow it up nd se on a bigger screen or print it? thank you very much!

I love Infinite Painter, but no matter how I change the settings, I can never seem to get the kind of pressure control I've gotten used to in Krita. I always find myself turning the flow all the way down to 5% to get a really light touch, whereas in Krita I almost never have to change the flow, and can rely pretty much entirely on pressure even with the flow at 100%.

It's so wild how different the touch sensitivity settings are compared across software! I know what you mean, things like Paintstorm Studio and CLIP feel fantastic out-of-the-box with stuff like pen pressure, but even after years of tweaking stuff, I can never *quite* get Photoshop's brushes to feel the same.

So, on conclusion, on iPad what is the best option to buy, Infinite Painter or Procreate? Considering drawing styles options (anime and traditional pencil b/w, and the same cost on each app.

I think Procreate has more "user-created content", so brush packs, templates, and overall tutorials online, however I still think Infinite Painter has a better "out of the box" painting feel, as the blends are smoother and the results look a little more traditional. The good news is, you really can't go wrong with either!

Out of the box, IP lets me paint like the Masters, and Procreate lets me do 2D images. They're not interchangeable for me. Could you PLEASE let me know about your background music? I need it to go to sleep at night. Please!

Thanks so much! I believe this one has some Guild Wars 2 official soundtrack music, I believe it was either the Heart of Thorns or the Path of FIre expansions, some absolutely incredible music!

It's really nice and Infinite Painter look really cool. I am wondering if the filters are destructive like Procreate or not ? That's a feature i really dont like in this app.

Yeah, I need to re-check Infinite Painter, but I normally make a "merged copy" of what I have on a new layer before altering/using adjustment layers. Like you said, I HATE when it destroys what I'm working on, so I do my own makeshift "non-destructive" layer to stick it to the man lol

Hi, in Infinite Painter you can apply whatever filter you want and undo, without any harm done. You can even go wrong, like you are in a fork and decide to go left, save your work and 2 days later you conclude that the left turn on the fork was a mistake, you can just go back to the gallery and rewind your history to the point you feel pleased with your work. I'm not going to lie, there are things not as smooth as it should (it can glitch from time to time, and if you stretch your RAM too far it might be risky), also Procreate offers animation and text features which Infinite still doesn't. But Infinite Painter is, imo, the best painting app I've tried, the colours blend in a more natural way depending on the brushes you use. I always have fun painting with Infinite Painter, just splashing around with the brushes, while Procreate I have to put the colours, then I need to add the textures. I would say Infinite Painter for Painters, Procreate for Ilustrators. but that just me!

Yep, free to download! There are in-app purchases, but you should get a great feel for the software with the initial download!

The wetness effect on Procreate is utterly bad. It creates some pretty ugly artifacts when blending/blurring. Infinite painter is miles ahead in that department. It also has a lower layer color smudge which is unparalleled.
