This kit was released by Tamiya on 12/12/2012. It has the famous Tamiya Avante name but is not as well known or liked as its vintage superstar namesakes.

Front universal shaft is a must upgrade! After 4 years, motor mount still holding fine. I still run it time to time up till today, and I love it!

Nice build video, the chassis goes together pretty easily. Can't say I'm a fan of the DF-02 chassis, but it's got a lot of potential as far as I can see.

I run mine with a Leopard brushless 10T, plastic motor mount, handles the power really well and everything still fine. Only broken front tower. Recently bought metal bling parts as they are getting harder to find.

I am lucky enough to now have the full 1/10th Avante family. 1988 Avante, Vintage Egress, 2001 Avante, Vanquish, Vajra, 2011 Avante, 2013 Egress, Avante Black, Avante Mk2, Aero Avante and VQS. Not all of them are perfect yet but I'm working on it.

Hi Gavin. I am toying with the idea of getting a tamiya 1/10 and putting 3s lipo and brushless in it. Assuming I hop up the drive train, would the rest of it destroy itself or is it possible? I have a stampede for bashing and after a rapid flat car.

When you say flat car are you talking about a road car or flat dirt running car?

@@RCKickschannel something kinda like this avanti you built on this video. I don't want a pure flat carpet racer type so something that I can run on a normal road. It doesn't need to be tamiya to be honest but something where the base kit is acceptable but the chassis is good enough to go a bit mad with when a few after parts are added.

No I don’t as it’s too expensive for people when you add in two shipping fees and the hours needed to build and paint a kit.

I paid £160 for the Aero Avante so yes you can get better for that amount of money. I wanted this kit for my Avante collection.

The DF-02 chassis came in 2004. The chassis is pretty durable except the front being a weak spot.
