Also, I have been fascinated with this TV Trope known as complete monster which is the worst of villains and complete monster and pure evil are synonyms. I include ones from both fanon and official and I noticed on villains fanon wiki that needlem0use is the current icon of the mature template and for examples of fanon complete monsters have a mature template, because of how vile a complete is, but for me it is not that scary as me understanding the criteria makes me interested a complete monster can be recognized be these criteria: 1. Heinous Standard/No offscreen villainy: They are truly heinous by the standard of the story and even if their actions are not as heinous as the most heinous one, they still stand out with less resources. Pawns usually do not count unless they have less resources or can still do as bad or worse than their master. If all their worst actions are offscreen, they cannot count although if at least some of their actions are onscreen, but some offscreen. They may count. It must not rely on fridge horror/pure shock value, unlike many exploitation villains. 2. No Redeeming Qualities/No Sympathy/No Moral Standard/No Noble goals: They are completely devoid of altruistic qualities and lack empathy and remorse. They have no noble goals nor moral standards. They fake them to manipulate others, or it can be just delusions, but they are not true, because of their horrible actions which makes them hypocrites who use it as an excuse to hurt whoever they want or they can originally have them, but get rid of them. For example King Boo in Luigi Mansion, while he did have redeeming traits, like caring for his minions. He throws them away in the 2nd game. Their goals are often nowhere close to being noble and are “not-so-well-intended-extremist” in some cases, when they are delusional. Although fallen heroes who used to have noble goals, but lost them overtime can still count if they remove any redeeming trait they had. They can also used to be true friends of heroes, but not anymore. Kilgrave from Jessica Jones is delusional, because he thinks he is a cool man who loved Jessica, when his love is a delusion, since he is a pervert. Their “Standards” are out of pragmatism. Such as choosing not to hurt a child, since it will draw attention. 3. Character Traits/Moral Agency: Unlike many Demons, Artificial Intelligence, Dark Forms, Evil Creations or Lovecraftian Horrors, which are forces of evil, they clearly understand right and wrong and are aware of their actions and Unlike Many Mute Villains who lack a personality, they have character traits. Mentally Ill, Psychotic and Dissociative, which are mental disability disorders, usually do not count unless they understand right and wrong, despite their disability disorders. 4. Taken Seriously: Their actions are taken seriously all the time, which evokes fear and hatred to other characters in the stories, therefore any comedic moment they have demonstrates how horrible they are. 5. No groups, Teams, Organizations, Families and Hostile Species cannot qualify since they lack a moral agency, although Partners In Crime can qualify if both/all 3 members meet the criteria. Here are examples: Official: Bug Fables: The scientists in charge of Upper Snakemouth are a duo of sociopathic cockroaches who sought to recreate the Everlasting Sapling's incredible powers, no matter the cost. In hopes of achieving immortality without the sapling, they kidnapped innocent bugs and would subject them to inhumane experiments that would destroy their minds and turn them into feral cordyceps zombies. Though long dead thanks to falling prey to their own hubris, the victims they left behind infest Snakemouth Lair as a haunting reminder of the atrocities they committed in their arrogant bid to create something even stronger than a god. Contra (Shattered Solider): Earth's ruling Triumvirate is indirectly responsible for the alien invasions of the first games in the series. They sent an army to recover the Relic of Moirai from Jupiter; the invading aliens were actually a defensive army. The Triumvirate, uncaring, claims the aliens are invaders, thus prolonging the war and resulting in countless deaths. When Lance Bean found out the truth, they supposedly killed him, and also used a satellite to wipe out 80% of Earth's population, blaming all this on Bill Rizer, who is later released to take on a terrorist group. The Triumvirate ultimately plans to examine the Relic and become like gods. Cowboy Bebop : "The Van", Wang, Sou, and Ping Long, are the seldom seen yet sinister ruling triumvirate of the Red Dragon Syndicate. Over their long rule, the Van maintain a policy of executing any who attempt to resign, and when Vicious kills their loyal capo, merely arrogantly assert their dominance without showing any care. When their soothsayer indicates Vicious finally intends to turn on them, the Van opt to capture him alive and make an example of him by having him publicly executed within the Red Dragon headquarters, murder his entire faction and even gunning down innocent civilians who so much as knew him. Ecco The Dolphin: In Defender, in the "Dolphin's Nightmare" storyline, Mutaclone and his two Co-Dragons form the "Exalted Ones", the leaders of a dolphin-supremacist regime known as the Clan. As a stand-in for the Witch from Hansel and Gretel, their choice in victims makes them stand out by far as the most depraved villains in a crime-ridden setting. Savage Streets: The Scars, comprised of the leader Jake and the Co-Dragons Red and Fargo, are a trio of White Gangbangers with a penchant for random, petty violence. After the heroine Brenda fills the Scars' car with trash in revenge for the Scars nearly running over her deaf young sister Heather, Jake leads the brutal beating and gang-rape of Heather in a school bathroom, with Jake forcing unwilling recruit Vince to rape Heather against his will. The Scars also later track down and kill Brenda's best friend Francine in revenge for a cut she dealt Jake during a brawl. Jake later runs over and kills Vince himself later on. For their part, Red and Fargo are vicious sexual sadists who molest random women and gleefully declare they'll rape Brenda before they kill her. Fanon: Two Dragons (Cowboy Bebop): "The Van", Wang, Sou, and Ping Long, once again are the smug, sadistic heads of the Red Dragon Syndicate. Responsible for mass murders across the galaxy, the Van murder all underlings of those who try to resign, having Vicious wipe out the neighborhood of one such man. When Vicious captures Spike Spiegel, the trio agree he may be Spike's executioner only out of enjoyment at the prospect of making Vicious kill his best friend. Notice: Also, these CM descriptions were copied and pasted from TV Tropes, so I hope you don't mind and the Two Dragons is a Cowboy Bebop fanfic AU where one imagines what if Spike and Julia did not plan on leaving the Red Dragon Syndicate. However, even though there are difference circumstances The trio of 120-year old elders know as The Van are still the same irredeemable monster as their canon selves. The Two Dragons version of The Van is the only Complete Monster/Partners In Crime in fanon works. Contra is a video game series and the Trivumvirate are a trio of 300 year old men in Shattered Solider. Notes: Since the story of both canon and the fanon two dragons take place in 2071 and The Van are just as old as they are in the canon, they have been likely born in 1950 or 1951.
