Let's fill my Peg & Awl palette with GORGEOUS watercolor paints!

One of my Christmas gifts this year was the Tilda painters pallet from Peg & Awl, and it is a thing of beauty. In this video I am planning out the six watercolor paint colors that I will include in the palette - it has just 6 wells! - as well as filling the small hand carved pans at the end.
This is a longer video than normal, so grab a cuppa and your sketchbook and swatch or art along with me!

I just wanted to say, I’m so sorry about losing your mum. I was 24 when I lost my mum and 14 years down the track I still miss her but the anger does go away the pain eases and the fond memories surface and come stronger than anything else, you’ll still have your days, but I promise it does get better.

In the ISARO paint it’s just a little binder separation use a tooth pick to mix it back in and your good to go. I actually poured some of my colours into hands and they dry and re-wet very nicely. That way you can avoid this issue happening too often.

My favourite is the cerulean blue , I have the Winsor & Newton pro half pan and I use it a lot for blue skys in the summer months . Happy Birthday 🎂 Evie , hope you had a wonderful day xx

Happy to see you finally fill your Tilda! I need to go through a similar process to choose my 6 colors for my Tilda... but summer feels so far away (when I can paint outdoors) that it's hard to get motivated! 😐

I wanted to do it quite soon after receiving it but the amount of time needed had been hard to find. But I am very chuffed with the selection I arrived at. 😎 I'd love to hear what you end up putting into yours when you do! ❤️ I'm now not going anywhere on the weekend (OH work in the way) so instead I will put it to use with some reference photos. I’m so interested to see how these colour choices work. I was given a peg & awl 6 palette for Christmas, & I’m so eager to fill it and so torn! Lol… I’m ok with 8 but struggle to limit to 6 colours. Your process was very helpful. I haven’t had the time to sit and do the testing. I want to try something a bit different and not just go for the obvious split primary palette. Loved your entire process of choosing the palette! It was so exciting! And hard to choose from those gorgeous colors. Your choices make total sense to me, however I recently got the Schmincke Perylene Maroon and I probably would have picked that. Looking forward to how this palette working for you!❤

Lmmfao. Now show us you actually painting a real image with that set up. I've never met an artist yet that would have chosen those colors for a limited 6 color palette so I'm deadly serious about wanting to see you use them to their full extent by painting actual paintings. Please and thank you. I'm so eager to learn and that would sure go a long way to enlightening our group.

@@eviedivadoodles mean spirited? No no I'm incapable of it. Reassure your husband I have no such intent. I'm autistic. I'm incapable of emotion which is exactly what is required to be mean. I comprehend facts and facts alone. Which is exactly what made me an excellent lawyer, judge and professor until my retirement. I can Reassure you, ill will, malice, negativity is now nor ever will be my intent. I'm just really curious as to how these colors would work together in a peice. I, along with others in our cities art league, generally stick to the traditional mixing palette. So it would be nice to expand. That's all. Thank you. Again, I apologize if I come off as offensive. I don't mean to be. I truly do just wish to understand others. Because by understanding others we learn to understand ourselves.
