fastest way to finish songs is to do it like the rappers, they just do it on the spot, freestyle, mumbling stuff and fitting words and keep going

Hey Josh! I'm in a bit of a burn-out situation with my songwriting / production still on hold, but I wanted to say that I like your initiative on discord. (Not yet familiar with that, but sounds interesting!) Keep mentioning it in your video's, I might join in the (near) future. BTW, do know this book: The Song Machine (how to make a hit) by John Seabrook? One of the best books about songwriting (history) I've read and pretty inspiring too. Check it out if you haven't yet!

Hey, I hope to see you in the group! I have not yet read that book. What do you like about it?

@@JansleyMusic The book is mostly about the rise of Max Martin. But also about his mentor Denniz Pop and some of his own successors, like Dr. Luke & Stardust. The book reveals the machine behind modern hit making (often teams working on songs.) It's well written and very informative about their songwriting formulae. No other songwriting book compares to this, I couldn't put it away. (I hope this helps.)

My problem right now is I don't know if I have a nice voice and that makes me not have confidence. I want to share a short audio for a brutally honest criticism. Just taking a shot so I wont take it personal

I had no confidence when I released my first songs with vocals. I was petrified to have others hear it, especially since my friends and family follow me on IG. Still gives me anxiety every time I upload a new song, but just gotta bite the bullet. You can DM me a sample of your song on IG and I’ll listen to it 🙂
