I think everyone has ideas on how to fix the whole thing, but one idea I've always had is having Gosei and Orion be one character so that way, Orion is there from the start and not just around because of the Gokai Silver footage, plus, he can be a mentor, first taking on the LeoKnight form, then taking the SMF Silver Ranger form, only for story reasons, it'd be something used at the start of SMF but in his haste, Orion is injured, thus taking him out for a while, but Silver is still established early. And as for the Mega Force powers, I'd say they would have been working on borrowed time because of a leak/break in the Morphing Grid which means continued use of them is draining them to where they'll be gone outside the Rangers Keys, which act as a back up method of retaining Ranger powers, they just can't be used on a permanent basis because of how it's set up. But it's thanks to the Mighty Mega Force Powers (my rename for SMF) created by Orion and Mach (Datas, who replaces Tensou), they can borrow those forms again for a while at least.

TJ seems like the guy who can creatively and constructively tackle these sorts of ideas without dipping too deep into fan fic or fan service as it were. This is a nice neutral take that aims to help the show itself rather than make it more appealing to fans, which I feel is an issue in fandoms

I honestly expected it to be fairly fanficky which is fine as entertainment, but I also don't like rewrites where it's like "yea all these cameos happen" and what not. Granted, a lot of people were willing to comeback it was just poor planning and what not, but budget probably wouldn't make it possible. I was really surprised he had it fairly grounded, and somewhat "cynical" especially with the finale. Using all the Legend battle footage and hand waving it as "they're teams from other dimensions and time periods" is a cut corner they definitely could've done. Especially considering what we actually got. But at the same time it is a cool scene that still caters to fans.

This is a nice format to use characters to tell the stories instead of going through ideas chronological. I'm going to use this style since more audiences are acceptable of it.

Considering later on they actually do access RPMs in one of the earlier episodes we can even have it where Gosei says: "This is from the Ranger team from my earth that made a bad choice, I forgot that there's a thing called the branch?" This way we can even when we don't get access to the next Rangers, by the fictional date we can always state that the fictional date is correct it's just from a different branch! Especially when we have to do the power up episodes for like the mega Zords and this is just to make one tiny little adjustment that I would do to the set, having a alternate version of gosei where his mouth is open as wide as possible, and he says"I will know transports you into my reality for a long moment of my time or is it short I'm not sure, for you to earn new powers for I have to ask permission." Which one heavily details why the corruption is literally dealing the abilities, and at the same time we can sneak in some of the weirder footage that makes no sense, by brushing it off as time is wonky!

When re explained WHY they get the Super mega Morphers in this I got CHILLS and a pit in my gut. So good. When he put the flashing of the keys in context, I could see that other team fighting, struggling. It’s so good. This is so good.

I thought they'd be tied to the old Ranger archives, and that whatever team they were being shown were the reason the keys were flashing, but I like what TJ actually came up with better and more dramatic.

I feel like making the Gokaiger adaptation a direct sequel to the Goseiger adaptation was an inherently flawed idea as a premise. You simply can't have these people running around in pirate outfits and mechs and not have them be pirates. Not to mention the Gokaigers clearly have very different fighting styles than the Goseigers so the use of stock footage is very blatant. Shld have just made it a separate show ffs

Or hell, even just have the Gokaigers be a different team altogether (named, say, the Galleon Rangers) from the main one instead of another goddamned power up. Have them still be space pirates who come to Earth looking for treasure and, when they see the Armada's presence, see them as an obstacle to finding the treasure they're looking for and thus work to take them out separately from the main Megaforce team. Have them break into the Rangers' command center and _take_ the Ranger Keys from Gosei forcefully, driving a bit of inter-Ranger conflict as Troy and company try to get these new Rangers to see them as allies. Boom, you've instantly justified the pirate motif and given a bit more depth not only to the world of PR, but to Megaforce's own story.

Orion's knowledge is due to studying the Green Dragon Power Coin, which was left with an ancestor (Tommy Oliver's clone who was left back in time) - when Gosei comes to Earth, he contacts Orion because of this connection to the morphing grid.

Here's my own things for it. The "never before seen on earth modes" are all Rangers from Orion's home world on Andrasia. And why are the Super Mode suits pirate themed? Gosei is Divatox. After she was turned good she started making her own Ranger tech. It took her years to create the morphers and keys. She had to perfect the super mode during Megaforce. She had perfected the Megaforce powers so she gave them to the Rangers at first.

I believe linkara said it best in that gosei wasnt supposed to be guardian of the earth, but in fact guardian of the chamber(command center), a hub connected to the morphing grid with all known powers, and that he would be able to create his own team should the need arise I believe i also saw somewhere that troy was supposed to be some kind of chosen one which is what drew the other rangers and gosei to him

Defiantly a cool idea with the Sentai teams being rangers from the future. I like to imagine people could expand on that with ancillary media, for example they could do a comic about The NeoThunder Rangers (DaiRanger) of 2095 who got their powers from the same source as the original Thunder Zords, or the SkyRangers (Jetman) of 2125, etc.

TJ, this was awesome. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed listening in on this. Out of all the "revival" videos in this push, this has been my favorite. Maybe in part because it brought me back to a simpler time. Super Megaforce aired during 8th grade for me, which was a really happy time in my life. So, no matter how bad it was, I'm always gonna have positive memories attached to it, like going to the store and buying some Ranger Keys of my favorite seasons, or watching the toy reviews on KZbin, or making paper Ranger Keys in class because I loved the concept that much. It really did me good to see you do it justice. If you continue this as a series, count me in. Heck, maybe you could expand it beyond Power Rangers, how about a Let's Fix Kamen Rider Ghost? Or Saber? I'd be so down for those.

Basically turning the megaforce team into SPD b squad is such a brilliant idea. They werent supposed to be the big heroes, they were just the backup protecting Earth, and now they need to step up to the plate. It makes so much sense that only a veteran ranger team would be trusted with such powerful morphers and not the new group, and Gosei giving them the key morphers means the situation is desperate. Also, solution for the final battle team up? Perfect tbh. In one swoop not only can you explain about unknown and future teams, you explain why the rangers all have their powers, why there are multiple Tommy powers there (because its literally all versions of him) and Tommy having all his different powers can be hinted at with the master morpher, which we know is introduced later in ninja steel. Heck you could even explain that the Gorangers are Zordons original team.

I really like your ideas on the show. I had one idea when the show was airing was I remember in Gosieger that their morphers became rusted at one point and couldn't use them. Robo knight uses the last of his power, thus sacrificing himself, to give them one last boost, also unlocking the gold mode as you called it for the final battle. However, when the battle ends the morphers rust again and the rangers lose their power but the bad guy was defeated so it all works out. That is when Emperor Mavro shows up and they have to harness the Megaforce powers because they need the power of one last ranger team to completely unlock the Super Megaforce powers for the next battle. That was just my idea on how to better explain the transition but your ideas are much better.

I really liked this concept. I had the idea of bringing Tommy back as well for a separate show idea. However, we have to remember that Tommy has the Red Zeo crystal still along with the Zeonizer. By this point, it's too much power for Tommy to handle if he morphed consistently. Him tapping into the Zeo Crystal slightly every once in a while would help keep it in check, so we could have Tommy morph into the red Zeo Ranger mid-way through the Great War to curb-stomp a bunch of Barizorgs that decided to try and gang up on him.

My favorite part is the use of Datas as the old video game that gives the Rangers their powers. Always bothered me that Goseiger used these data cards when they were freaking Angels. Just do it like Megaranger and have a group of teens discover a video game that makes them Rangers. Makes so much sense.

When jake was asking about the super megaforce green key, I would imagine that Gosei, even though he’s a big giant tiki head, would get a bit emotional and try and give an explanation, but could only muster up the words “I’ll explain it when I can“ While trying not to act as emotional as he normally would have in a time like this in front of the Rangers.

Yknow if they had done everything you said in this video, Megaforce mightve ended up being one of my favorite seasons lol I mean tbh ive always been of the opinion that we should have just skipped Gokaiger and done Goseiger for a full two years bc imo Goseiger is a far better POWER RANGERS tribute whereas Gokaiger is the perfect Sentai love letter, but with the tweaks and changes you suggested in this video it worked well for me. I still kinda dislike the idea of splicing two Sentai, but if they had to do it they shouldve done it like this. Honestly I want someone to write your version as a fanfic bc id read it in a heartbeat, lol. Very nice, very thorough and you did well. I admit, one change I WOULD make is probably reuse the mecha battles from the movie. IE, maybe given the corrupted Orion the fake Gokai-Oh from the movie for a mecha fight. You could even use Los Dark's suit as the guy who corrupted him. Or make Black Cross Colossus Mavro's One Winged Angel form in the final battle, but have it turn out the zord that attached to the Megazord's back is the zord Orion's team used back on their planet, still keeping the idea of him getting his revenge blow.

While Super Megaforce wasn't on my list I had a video series idea like this, where I go over shows that could have been better and come up with ideas. (I still want to do this.) So I hope you do more because I think this would have been a much better version of Megaforce than they gave us. They didn't care about the anniversary, which immediately makes them the wrong people to have done this season, and possibly the show overall.

You know, after having watched this there is actually another way the writers could have used to explain the Sentai Only suits. One that was actually Handed To Them In MMPR itself, in the form of the Rangers of Aquitar. Why didn't they simply have Gosei tell them that they were accessing the Abilities of Ranger Teams from other planets that simply haven't visited earth? *shakes head* Even the Dairangers could have been explained by him saying that he wanted to differentiate the Dino-Zord Powerset from the Thunder Powerset in some way so the Rangers would not get confused which key was which.

There were some good ideas that I did like, Vrak's freiza bit, Data's arcade fix, acknowledging monsters of the week exist. Those sort of things. Some ideas were indeed fan ficky, but not as bad as I thought it would be. All & all, this fixer upper was well thought out & not convoluted & trying avoid the usual pitfalls of making a rewrite such as this.

I love your ideas! Though IF JDF and the budget would allow I'd have it that on the Orion rescue mission Tommy stay behind so the Rangers can escape. This leads to him being captured and brainwashed. So now the Rangers have to fight Tommy. To show how powerful Tommy is he breaks free on his own. Though it's hinted at that he may not have brainwashed, and just wanted to test the Rangers. He jokes that it isn't the first time he was brainwashed, or the second.

I admire you for keeping limitations on this. Most people will ignore that and go hog wild. But it's always more interesting working with restrictions and trying to figure out just how you would handle things in the situation others were in, rather than imagining you had an unlimited budget and all the time in the world. I've been wanting to try this sort of thing myself with video game rewrites and all that, so this will definitely be a source I go to now and then. I'd love to see more stuff like this, perhaps redoing MMPR to make it a more coherent and story-driven series or rewriting Transformers RID 2015 or the Machinima series.

28:13 considering they did recolor the suits for the Evil Avatars in Beast Morphers Season 1, I can see this being possible just repainting green to black, and they can toss it fast because the main plate is Gokai Silver/ Super Megagorce Silver honestly though, I would love for Orion to be more energetic like it was with Antonio on Samurai ( enjoyed season 1, yet to complete Season 2 but he became my favorite member )

They should've gotten the keys while they were still in Megaforce mode, that way when they gained the ability to morph into other Ranger teams you could call that Super Mega Mode, and the Pirate Rangers would've been just another team from another dimension.

Luckily the two megaforce seasons have both 4 inch and 5 inch figures. But, I won’t really be paying any attention to that, and be getting whatever megaforce and super megaforce Ranger, loogie or X Borg figures I can find. That way, I can use the 4 inch mega force figures to replicate the battle that you are describing in this video where the megaforce powers aren’t strong enough to defeat the X borgs and they have to upgrade to super megaforce mode. Which, in this case would be upscaling into the 5 inch figures.

The only problem with Gosei being a being from a time flux dimension is because of RPM who is in an alternative timeline. In our universe, they won't be existing. Me personally, I would put him from the chaos dimension where time and space is a pretzel so he can't get neither time nor space right. That way, it would work with your joke gambit like: Datas: Gosei! you're giving them the wrong rangers again! Gosei: Sorry Rangers, this is Power Ranger Bio Fusion (My name for Bioman) Troy: Let me guess, they are from some years ago? Gosei: No, they are from the past. Emma: Then how come we never heard of them? Gosei: They are from the planet ABC from far away. They stop being rangers a long time ago.

14:31 this example here is better considering most people asume and it must be true that the crew just blew all their budget on unnecesary props so that they can match the Sentai Footage ( money lost because they won't be using those sets after using them to match the episode footage from Gokaiger/Goseiger ) like, the legendary Megazord hole, the trip to Not-Courinth, the lack of explanation of unadapted sentai suits ( specially the Dairanger suits, since they had an golden opportunity to connect it to MMPR with just some explanation instead )

i did my own fix but its bundled into a meta comic so when the story gets to mega force you;ll be abke toi ready the fixed version

I like the story you came up with it's brilliant, ten times better no a hundred times better then the original megaforce storyline, Now the only few thing I would change, (Like you didn't see this coming), is instead of Bulk I would have put in Skull instead this would explain why Skull was so rich back in the end of super samurai he owns shops all around the place and like Bulk he to would be able to know a ranger team when he see's one. Another thing I would change is Gia is actually Skulls daughter this helps explain why Gia had to supervise the team the night they become rangers.
