40.58 As the Lama mentioned, spirituality evolves out of religiousity. When we buy statues instead of a new set of clothes, we are making a sacrifice, priotitising the connection with the enlightened beings over looking stylish or cool. For us who do not know how to meditate or how to be spiritual, the action of making offerings gives us peace and fulfilment. Nobody avails a loan to buy choesham. So the elaborateness of choesham depends exactly on the wealth of the family. Poor household would feel fullfilled to offer butter lamps in their brass cups, but rich people wont. They will feel the pinch only when they buy gold cups and consequently gain fulfillment or satisfaction only when they offer in Golden bowls.
