Let’s give the Daisy slingshot ONE more try

I’m going to give the Daisy one more chance. I hated it so bad before that I threw it away. I want to see what I can do with it after getting good at shooting other frames #slingshot #daisyslingshot

Hey Dan, Nathan Masters has a short video on how to attach flatbands to this beast. It works!! Just wrap and tuck, just like you would with any other frame. Putting flat bands on this improves it a thousand percent. Try it!!👍

We had em as kids,the marksman was the one I had,We thought it was some great new idea putting a forearm brace on a wire frame w/tubes! Had no clue they'd been around since 1954,I think.The marksman tubes seemed little lighter&I was actually reasonably accurate with it, shooting heavy decorative Landscape stones.. maybe occasional large marble,The daisy tubes are super heavy.ive got a B51 laying around here(no brace),&a Saunders flat band that one can get pretty accurate with, the brace paired with some S.Sling flats makes 1/2" or 11mm steel feel like your shooting 8mm steel, could be a good hunting tool where allowable. Just not the same feel for sure if you're accustomed to shooting today's smaller ergonomic frames.

I've never used a Daisy but I have a Barnett Black Widow which is a similar style. Other than comfort in the hand I don't think the frame matters that much, why not replace the tubes with flat bands and retest the Daisy, maybe it's the tubes you don't like. Also heavy tubes need 100 - 200 shots put through them to break them in.

My son bought himself a daisy for his first slingshot. I tried it and hated it, so I replaced the tubes with flat theraband for him. Made all the difference.

This is the reply to your previous question, because my replies keeps on disappearing😬 Same annoying bug I once had. I use smart clamps I bought from pocketpredator. I can't post links, because they dissappear. Even without the links my replies to your question disappeared. I use the same kind of installation method as shown in the lower left corner of the picture which is on their site. Go to accessories to find the smart clamps and that picture. My wire frame is made in Italy and I can change the handle other way around. So now the prongs are facing towards the target. It's much safer that way, because those metal clamps even if they have loosen a bit can't hit your eyes. I also run my bands through the clamps and then over the clamps to and more friction.

I use my old wire frames for dart shooting. I have never had a fork hit with those frames even when I was a complete beginner. Wide and high shooting gap makes it much safer to shoot those pointy things. I changed the flatbands and now it's joy to shoot them again.

Yes,I'll second that. Great frame if one wants to try shooting darts. just know it's going to shoot lower than a narrow frame & adjust.

It works for some but I tell everybody once you taste of good flatband latex, you’ll never wanna go back. I will also see if you’re good shooting with those tubes you’ll probably be very deadly with latex.

As mentioned, the tube are JUNK and replacing them doesn't help.. However, replacing them with proper bands (tied on) or quality tubes, will make all the difference in the world! I have my older wrist rocket, and after recently getting back into slingshots, I have revisited it, and am quite surprised at what it can do, given a fair chance ;) Try tying on some bands (plenty of videos on how to here on YT) I think you'll be surprised.. FWIW I shoot instinctive mostly, so the "sighting" thing isn't an issue for me, YMMY..

Video Idea, change the Daisy from tubes to bands, and show what it can do ;) also, FWIW the Daisy comes in 2 versions, the (B-15?) you got and the original "wrist rocket" version (B-52?), due to the wrist brace version being illegal in places where folks have lost/ given up their rights ;) maybe go buy the wrist brace version, and include it in the "upgrade" video too! Love your channel, video style and general attitude... you seem like an old friend, that I've never met..

Daisy looks like the marksmen the old one, i have one of them, thiught i give my one a second chance also, seen this video thought ok, i found it not that good unless close but fun for long distance shots, up close there good Yes its instinct Its look aim fire How i find it, but will upgrade to the wrist, support one As a kid it was rock and a home made type, tyer tube😅

I think the problem might be the fact that the tubes are to strong for the size of ammo maybe try bigger ammo or smaller tubes

I have always wanted to try that because they sell it at Dunhams in my hometown. I think I think those are good frames, but I think everyone should consider putting flat bands on them.

I suspect the instruction about center of the Y is assuming an upright shooting position. Shooting sideways with a gap that wide, my anchor should be on my jawbone or at least quite low. If you're using a typical cheek anchor then your shots are probably hitting low, meaning you have to aim high or adjust your anchor and/or aim point. Aiming wise it shouldn't be any different than a flat band TTF, down the center line of the top band. I did get pretty good with a wrist rocket back in the day, but it was thoughtless trial and error. I couldn't possibly explain how I did it, I had just done it enough that I could instinctively hit my target. For those interested, but unfamiliar with tubes. They typically have a four digit number. The first two digits are the interior diameter in millimeters. The second two are the exterior diameter. Example. 2040 is 2mm by 4mm. Given 25mm is one inch, you can assume that 2040 is pretty tiny. Wrist rockets typically use 3090. As I understand it, the thickness and shape of tubes makes them less efficient at retracting. Essentially all that extra rubber gets in its own way. That's why wrist rockets have a stiff pull and an underwhelming impact.

Excellent chart is not inconsistent that’s you you said you shoot your other one regularly so should this one regularly get used to it is slingshots not the problem you don’t wanna learn the limitations of the slingshot you must be a because you’re blaming the slingshot for your lack of ability that’s crazy

Yeah I just feel most guys who excel in the slingshot world would agree that these rubber tubes are super limited. I just don’t see them to be necessary. If you like this then cheers. I tried for a long time to love and I despise these rubber tubes. They have such a slow rate of retraction compared to flat band latex or even looped tubes. On top of that, they don’t last for nothing
