The shelter improvements are shaping up wonderfully! Bravo Takis - what an achievement, you can see the dogs and cats love their new accommodation! Thank God you rescued sweet Gusta, the freedom you give your dogs will occasionally result in fights but you always rush in and save them. Sad that dogs have this habit of bullying from time to time - you understand them so well Takis, this is how you run such a happy and harmonious shelter. The German Shepherd boy absolutely adores you - he looks to you as his saviour, because you took him out of his chains. How about you call him NELSON, after Nelson Mandela? Because Nelson Mandela was another noble spirit, who was released from his chains to live a wonderful life as an inspiration to many! Well of course the dogs stir when they hear your voice. It is impossible to not notice just how devoted to you all of the dogs are! You saved them and provide them with a home, food and all the fresh water they want! May I please take a moment to remind people that Takis is in need of adoptive homes for these lucky dogs he rescues. Takis Shelter is a wonderful place but it is not their home! Please, people, if you can adopt one of these amazing animals, contact Takis!

I have adopted a 16 year old cat (he lived 6 more years with me), a 13 year old cat (lost her to natural causes when she was 17), and I currently care for a bonded pair of cats who came from a feral colony. They had been in foster care for 5-1/2 and 4-1/2 years respectively, and we think they are mother and son or some other close relationship. Every senior I have taken in has brought incredible love to my family. No worries about kitten or puppy behaviour issues, and when they bond with you, they really bond intensely! I wish I could adopt from Takis, but I live in Canada and he won't adopt out a dog that far away. I support Takis as much as I can afford to, as well as Let's Adopt in Spain. But I also support a local charity that provides vet care and grooming for dogs belonging to the homeless and people of low income. It makes me feel incredible to help people who help animals!

you could make sleeping platforms out of wood and tack the blankets and soft pillows on top of that so the dogs can't drag them outside. you can then pull the blankets up to throw away when they are spoiled and tack new ones onto the wooden platform. use a thin strip of wood and nail that down over the edge of the blankets, pillows, foam, etc. then when you want to change the spoiled blanket, just tear up the strip and pull the nails out, etc. maybe that would work, dear....
