That is flying! When we were coming down from Shroud to farmers cay, it was blowing 10-12 behind the beam. I was happy with my seven knots. A 1260 flying only his cruising spinnaker caught us like we were sitting still. AIS said he was going 9.5 knots! Sea winds are awesome boats.

It was an awesome, super, amazingly great sail and we didn't want it to end! We finally are getting the feeling like we may know what we're doing. That is until the ocean decides to humble us again 😆!

first time watching one of your videos, y'all are doing great ! we almost looked at the cat that you bought but found one in south florida we liked, we have an 1160 as well and teach on her. We were supposed to be in the Bahamas this season but got too busy with classes , sorry we missed you, maybe next year. Don't know if you realize how lucky you are to have a Seawind ! I have crossed the Atlantic, sailed in the Med.and in the Pacific to the Galapagos on other cats... Love my Seawind !

Thank you for the very thoughtful words! We do love our Seawind as well and are learning very quickly how much more she can take than we can. We certainly hope to get many, many years out of her and continue to make improvements as we go along.

Thank you again for a great video. Wow! that Spinnaker looks awesome under sail. Please be very careful with the electric winches. When raising the main halyard, your fingers and shirt sleeves were dangerously close to the winch and halyard line. It makes me feel very uncomfortable. The forces are tremendous on the winch drum and one of my friends lost two fingers when he caught them between the line and the winch drum. Your thumbs should always be the farthest away from the drum, but it seems natural that the thumbs are the most forward digits. My apologies if the above is taken in a bad way. You guys rock it!

Thank you for your concerns and the pro tips! Our halyard line is super stiff and Paige has to pull it through so it doesn't stop wenching, which (now that you mention it) brings thumbs a little too close for comfort. We recently changed the main halyard line and we are excited to see if that fixes the problem, and should help us keep our digits further from trouble.

It was such a fun sail! Love Spinnaker sailing in those kind of conditions. Winston is doing great! Back to his old self it seems.
